We wondered why we were the only ones there until we walked under the archway entrance we were greeted by two geckos and a swarm of bugs even doused in OFF WE were bitten alive so needless to say we turned right around and left...More

We were the only ones walking through the hammock. It was beautiful and peaceful. It was difficult to tell which plants the signs were describing; the site needs some updating.

This was an interesting, though fairly short walk (a 1 mile loop or 2 mile loop). Lots of signs telling about the trees and the hammock ecology. However, beware of when you go. We did the 1 mile walk in the heat of a breezy...More

It was a nice walk until the bugs hit, we spent the entire walk brushing them off. Not worth the stop to be honest.

Parking outside of the entrance with no other cars was a clue. Two walking loops, one a 1.1 mile and a 2.1 mile loop. Not too scenic, some pretty spots. Bathroom there and that's about it. Small area of water, nowhere near the ocean. Go...More

A varied landscape through this State Park kept us interested and engaged the entire 2+ miles. Many plants were named and described. Very quiet, only encountered a half dozen other walkers.

Construction was going on so much of the trail was closed, and still charged $2.50 per adult for a walk with the mosquitoes. Not worth it. Husband thought he saw a crocodile, so that was pretty cool.

We were looking forward to a nice morning hike and paid five dollars to enter before learning that most of the park was closed. We were clearly tourists wearing shorts and weren't warned of how bad the mosquitos were. By the time we left we...More

Part of the trail was under construction so though I enjoyed the trip I feel that I didn't get the full experience.

We stumbled on this place. It had been an area slated for development and it was interesting to see these remnants. Many of the trees were labelled. It would be ideal for those with mobility challenges.

There is a one mile loop and a 2 mile loop. The full loop is sometimes partially under water. As far as level goes, well, this is the keys, so its flat. This park is taken care of by John Pennekamp State Park, so you have to... More
