We snorkeled here from Pennekamp State Park with a group of 18 (high school marine biology class), and it was perfect for beginners and old pros alike. The depths vary from 5 to 25 feet in most areas, and the statue and reef are wonderful....More

The statue was interesting, but the real highlight of snorkeling or diving in the area is the reef around it. There were a wide variety of fish and corals to see, and several large schools of fish.

This was our second visit to the statue. Our camera was broken the first time and we needed to get some photos. Nice dive with a great prop.

The tour is really nice, crew is friendly, but keep in mind, this is a dive tour, boat is very "basic" and packed, so limited shade places to seat... not really the most conformable ride. But again, if you're going exclusively for the dive, which...More

While there's a lot of activity around this site - snorkelers and divers - there's marine life in the area, around the bends of reef and rock fingers. Fairly large schools of snappers, some damselfish, quite a few barracuda, some large gray angels and French...More

This is a very beautiful site.I had only the pleasure of seeing it snorkling not diving. On a very clear day when the waters are calm you can see it from above. This is a bronze statue which was donated by an italian sculpture. The statue...More

If you can go see. It is a lovely site. I would be sure to bring an underwater camera. It does not have to be fancy. The disposable underwater cameras from Walgreeens will give you beautiful memories of you and your friends.

I have seen this in a zillion pics. It was great to see in person. We were warned not to touch it due to fire coral growing on it!

We took my son diving here off the John Pennekamp dive boat. It was a great place for a photo and a nice easy dive for a beginning diver.

It is ~ 30 miles off shore. Frankly, I would not recommend this as a top snorkel site; as it was very crowded. Better spots are available in the Gulf.
