John Pennekamp is a water park. It's good for snorkeling and kayaking and boating and generally anything you can do on the water. Beaches are nice. We happened to be there on the weekend a tropical storm was off the coast so snorkeling was not...More

If you are looking for some off beach snorkeling, it is available but the quality is not good. The beach is very rocky (better have the water shoes or it will hurt), and not much fish to see. I rented a mask and fins from...More

The majority of Park visitors support our non rental of snorkels. Consider that a "rental" could easily have over a hundred previous uses. New unused snorkel in a bag for $5 as opposed to say $2 for a rental. The choice should be obvious. The...More

I decided to go to the park to walk around and check it out. I noticed they canceled all the activities for the day because of the incoming storm. While it probably upset people I always appreciate when companies taking safety precautions over income. I...More

Fantastic! My kids had a great time snorkeling. If Cannon Beach is too rocky, there's another beach that's awesome for swimming/snorkeling and I didn't step on any rocks. Be sure to stop by the visitor's center for info.
