park was awesome for a family, went twice when we were on vacation in the area. park has plenty of parking and a nice sandy beach that does get crowded on the weekend but every one that we encountered was nice.

Warm clear water. Nature abounds. We saw iguanas and raccoons. Tons of families. Feels like you're in the Caribbean. Water is mild with small lapping waves. Very beautiful beach.

We had high expectations and chose this to be the only beach we go to during our stay in Miami. It's far from the image we had of a Miami beach (golden sandy wide endless beaches... this really isn't one). We chose this after reading...More

This beach was quiet and quiet lovely. The lighthouse is right on the beach and is a gorgeous spot to take pictures. We went on a cloudyish day, so there were few people on the beach. The water was warm and more peaceful than the...More

The beach is only 1.5 miles and relatively private. We are here at start of hurricane season.. The sky was overcast with scattered showers..That might be why there werent as many people. The lighthouse adds a touch of romance. Overall good trip..

To begin the State Park itself is decent. The drive going to the park is pretty. However, we were not impressed with the beach at all. First, we are from the Gulf side of Florida. So, if you are used to Anna Maria, Siesta Key,...More

I live in south FL and often go to parks. Nevertheless, this park surprisingly was a little gem, I did not expect I will enjoy my visit so much even without going to the beach! Went to the lighthouse and to a natural trail at...More

Went at the behest of out-of-town guests. Never again. Worse than Crandon Park and more costly to visit. That I witnessed a beach beer fight is enough evidence to support this contention: people were angrily tossing filled cups of beer at one another, over (my...More

A visit during Memorial Day weekend might be a roulette. It was a lot of people on the beach but still OK. Water clean and there was plenty of restrooms.

Hi! As I remember you voluntarily give money, donation by the entrance. When being guided by a guide it costs. We didn't do that. I was there in Jan 17. Enjoy your trip.
