My husband, border collie, and I recently spent a morning romping in the waves and strolling the beach. We met friendly surfers, fishermen, and lots of dogs and their owners. The beach was quiet, clean, and we had a wonderful time.

There are bathrooms and convenient hose/shower, along with ample parking. The location was convenient to our stay on Nettles Island.

We stopped here after searching for a dog beach and we loved it. Our Yorkie was scared because he doesn’t like the water but there were many friendly dogs who came up to him. We will definitely come here again if we are in the area. The beach is quiet and very clean.

There she was walking away from the beach in a bikini too small for her and two dogs. The dogs came right up to us in the parking lot and were friendly. One even wanted to drive. She called them off. We wondered over the sand mound and saw yet another gal in a bikini that fit very well playing with her dog. Girls, dogs and a couple of old dudes and that was it. Seaweed everywhere! Seems everyone who had a dog also had an umbrella or tent so the poor things could get out of the hot sun and also take water. We didn't step in any piles. I kept wondering why there weren't more guys on the beach with their dogs. Secret's out.

We are always on the hunt for dog-friendly places, and based our decision to go here primarily on reviews from other TripAdvisor members. What a great choice we made! We spent a couple of hours here, watching our dogs & others play in the sand & surf. Fresh water is available at 2 different places, but only one of them had restrooms. Our dogs loved it & we loved it! Thanks to St. Lucie County for making this place available, with no entry fee or permit required, and thanks to the folks & dogs who use this beach for making our first visit memorable. We LOVED it, and will return.

Nice dogs only! okay so maybe they don't always listen when you call them but make sure that they are friendly dogs who get along well with people and are socialized well with other dogs. if that sounds like your dog bring them out to the end of Hutchinson island to Walton rocks for the time of their lives! no leash law they're so that's why they have to be well-behaved and friendly with humans and canines alike.they get to interact and run and jump in the ocean if they want to or they can sit with you underneath the umbrella. Make sure that you bring plenty of FRESH WATER for your dogs... You don't want them drinking the ocean water. They will need water so will you! there are waste bags and you must be sure that wherever your dog goes you clean up after your dog!!! During turtle season you have to keep an eye on them even closer. There is freshwater there so just bring a bucket and you can rinse them off after also. Great friendly people and Great friendly dogs. no alcohol allowed. But bring a picnic, and some sunscreen and enjoy the day. Clean up after yourself and pick up any extra trash you see... Let's keep our beaches clean!

Walton Rocks does NOT have a lifeguard. It's a great beach to let your dogs run free. All types here and they all get along. People are good about cleaning up after their pups too. If you are looking to catch some waves - this would also be a top choice for you.

The dog messes all over the beach are disgusting. In theory, this should be a great spot for dogs with owners. The smell is absolutely horrible on a hit day. Tip: go to the second parking area. Much cleaner area.

The people are friendly, the beach is perfect....

This is an off-leash park...It's a dog park, but it's definitely for people too :) Every time I've been, there have been about 6-7 dogs at any given time. Nice place to relax.

sand road access is a bit washed out and the minimalist toilets could use some TLC. Lots of people bring their dogs here to run.

I believe this is the only "official" dog beach in St. Lucie County. It is a fantastic place to take the pups, big or small they all get together and frolic in the ocean waves. Showers for when you are done and want to wash them up. It is a very clean beach as all the owners are good about picking up the number 2's. The county should look at adding more places like this as the number of families with pets is outnumbering the just people families.
