This little park made up for my earlier disappointing visit to Florida's granddaddy Everglades when I visited Miami in Nov 2017. If it wasn't for Amelia, my whole trip would've been a disaster (just like the hurricane Irma) because Miami city is not really my cup of tea.

The park is green, it has lakes that are clean, there are trails for walking in woods, horse stable, children play area with goats and most of all, for a city park it has plenty of wildlife. At one point I saw a big lizard coming out of public restrooms (maybe it was inspecting it for cleanliness) These little Komodo Dragons are all over the place and freely walking among chickens, goats and other water birds. It can easily be classified as a mini zoo plus a nature reserve.

And its named after the Brave aviator Amelia Earhart who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. What's not to like?

I had visited my family in Miami and they threw a baby shower. The park was big and clean and many areas and pavilions.

We went on a Sunday , even with lots of people it did not seem crowded. Minimal fee to get in and soo much to do with the kids. We were there only 4 hours and hardly saw half the park. Their wa pony rides, farm animals, water sports, cycle rentals and a great park!

It's a great place for fishing, has a lot of nature and visiting the farm were the chickens, the pig, and the goats are is fun. I think its probably the best place for kids my age (12) and under. Its were I always relax when Im mad. I just sit on the bridge that's the closest to the entrance and start fishing with my dad or sometimes with my grandpa.

My boyfriend and I (Early 20's) usually go for the little goat, pony, pig, chicken farm. The goats are running around inside a huge fenced in area and you can feed them for $1 (gets you a cone of food) but be careful! The goats will know you have food! This park is huge, has a lake with water activities and concession stands too. They also have paddleboat rides, bike jogging paths and pavilions.

Note: They no longer charge for entrance, instead you pay parking at a machine, $7

Who knew Amelia Earhart's plane departed from here on her fatal trip around the world ! Hence the name! More over, who knew this park contain a replica farm with a petting zoo! Apparently every local in Miami, but myself who's only lived in Miami Beach 7 years now. I was so pleasantly surprised upon my first visit here, I wasn't expecting to find a park this nice in Hialeah. There are many nice paths to walk, and beautiful pond near the farm area that makes for amazing view at sunset time. It would be deserving for a full 5 stars if it were a bit more well kept and less trash laying about, although I'm sure all this is due to the heavy traffic as there were people everywhere.

Interesting park full of locals. We were the only family who spoke English as a first language. Everyone else spoke Spanish. Every activity was $25 an hour. They had swan paddle boats, tandem bicycles, lots of places to picnic with a large group, and wake-boarding, which was not at all regulated. No age restrictions, sign your life away and go. Couldn't find the petting farm. We drove back and forth several times. No signage and no one to ask. Playground was packed and broken piece on the slide was covered by a wooden board. Parking was $7.00 for the day but there were parking lots everywhere. Hard to figure out where to park. Killed a day but wouldn't travel any distance to go again.
