I went there on a Monday, so they weren't giving tours, but from the grounds were really nice, and could tell people maintained the place with loving care. I can't wait to go back and get the official tour.

We actually planned a 2 day stay in nearby Micanopy so we could visit Cross Creek and this park and we were not disappointed! After reading the book, it was nice to walk the grounds and get a feel for what it was really like....More

This is an inexpensive, low-key attraction, that is best enjoyed by adults. The house is small, and might feel crowded to children. Should take about 1-1/2 hours to tour the house and grounds. The period decor (consisting of a full range of household artifacts) is...More

Took some time to visit here and it was worth the trip. They encouraged us to pick some fruit off the trees and sample it. Its worth the few bucks they charge to do the tour. It's a beautiful piece of property that is well...More

Those kinds of facilities are in nearby towns. Gainesville has excellent hotels and there is a campground is Ocala. The park itself is boat friendly and pet friendly. The house & nearby grounds are historic and modest.
