Don't be in a hurry. Eat before you take the kids. This is a magic place. You have to slow down and let it come to you. It is as close to the rain forest as you will get.

I visited after seeing #1 on Trip Advisor. (9/30/17). Despite rain shower, it was fun to see many exotic butterflies. High recommendation for family visit. Please instruct children not to grab the butterflies.

Excellent place to see butterflies up close. You can check the schedule for days and times when they release the butterflies out to the wild.

This is the best butterfly exhibit I've ever seen. It should be the model for all others. The staff loves what they do and why they do it.

Its a terrific stop on a weekend or a slow day after school. The young ones will love it and they even have a little snack shop. Definitely worth a visit!

Walk through the natural environment for many different types of butterflies. Up close and personal. If you are lucky one of the butterflies will land on you and stay for a few seconds. They are so graceful. Time if right and you can be there...More

As others have said, no, the exhibit is not protected from the rain. We also are required to close during lightning or heavy storms.

Yes, all Florida Museum exhibits are wheelchair accessible. The Butterfly Rainforest path was recently widened in some areas to improve access.
