Visiting the Butterfly Rainforest is like taking an exotic trip to a tropical country. Butterflies flutter gracefully among the lush mini-forest, and will occasionally land on you. I could spend many happy hours there.

Lots of children. Interesting to watch through open windows the butterfly lab as staff is working. Just sitting in the butterfly enclosure is peaceful.

Loved visiting here. Was very informative about the history of Gainesville and the nature in Florida. The butterfly garden was very relaxing and a wonderful experience. I would definitely go here again!

As others have said, no, the exhibit is not protected from the rain. We also are required to close during lightning or heavy storms.

Yes, all Florida Museum exhibits are wheelchair accessible. The Butterfly Rainforest path was recently widened in some areas to improve access.
