We always enjoy going to butterfly gardens, and this is one of the best. Attractive plants and water features enhance the pleasure of touring this exhibit. Even though it was a cool day, there still were a number of butterflies in flight.

It is difficult to describe the beauty and uniqueness of this Butterfly Rainforest within the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainsville. You can spend whatever amount of time you want, relaxing on several benches and perhaps having a butterfly or two land on your hair, shoulder or hand. The colors are breathtaking as hundreds of butterflies dance amid all... More

It's educational, beautiful, fun and peaceful. Try to hit it on a weekday as weekends are busy and it can be crowded. Plan to spend at least an hour just walking around inside the rainforest and sitting on a bench and just watching nature. Outside the rainforest is a great deal of displays of mounted butterflies; a laboratory with all... More

When you walk in the Butterfly Rainforrest you find yourself in a magical space. The air is filled with color and flappoing wings Because they've never known predators they will light on your clothing, fingers, even nose sometimes. Placards liberally scattered around the space add the science to the spectacle. For myself, all I knew about butterflies was their origin... More

The butterfly rainforest is inside the Florida Museum of Natural History. It's free to visit inside the museum, but you need to buy a ticket for the butterfly rainforest. It's free for students with student IDs however. There are many beautiful butterflies, flowers, and plants inside.

As my title says, you get to tour a tropical setting instead of watching the fauna and flora from behind a glass screen. Best place to spend a peaceful day and calm yourself over the weekend or rejuvenate yourself for the days ahead.

This exhibit at the Florida museum of natural history is wonderful. It is especially nice if you have never seen the butterfly lifecycle or a live release of butterflies. I highly recommend this to adults and families with children. There are also free exhibitsat the museum and wonderful gift shops that have something for every age.

You will not leave here bored, nor will your children. A fabulous learning and visual experience. I had no idea there were so many species and colors of butterflies.

The garden itself was beautiful but the butterflies... Never saw so many and of so many different types. We would look at a tree, bush, etc. and try to find the ones resting. Several landed on us while inside! Abundance also of interesting and engaging information presented. WOW!
