If you've never been, this is a nice series of gardens to walk through. They also have a lovely entry building and gift shop. However, if you're a die-hard plant person it's hard to turn away and pretend you didn't see the number of invasive...More

Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit. It is just outside of Gainesville, Florida. This was my first trip in Spring/ Summer, I usually have visited in January, or February. The Winter visits are nice, but nothing like a real growing season visit. I...More

We visited here in April and were disappointed to have just missed the last of the camellias. And we were too early for many of the varieties that would be blooming soon. Our visit was also stymied by construction work along the East Gardens' loop...More

62 acres divided into various garden themes. Fun and interesting sculptures and structures are tucked around the gardens. An easy walk following the sidewalk around--had to dodge a few sprinklers but Fl. has been dry! Most plants were labelled which helped to identify the unusual...More

I was very impressed with the gardens! The map was pretty easy to follow, and I spent a couple of hours strolling leisurely around. I really enjoyed the herb garden, which was quite educational, telling about the use of the herbs in their native countries....More

The gardens themselves are amazing. Sometimes the children get bored. I also recommend to bring 3 dollars to get fish food so you can feed the cod. The Kanapaha gardens are spread out on a TON of land, so may spend about 1-3 hours here....More

Yes, on a leash. We take our dog each time we go. We always take a bag in case she poops, and we watch for alligators near the water. It is a great place to walk dogs!
