Took a special Saturday 1 hour+ tour of the Burroughs House. Tour consists of visit to most rooms in house including a walk back to a party pavilion where weddings and special events are held. Prior to and after the tour you can sip lemonade and enjoy cookies and pastries on the mansion front and or side porch. Very informative... More

The Burroughs Home & Gardens is definitely a hidden gem in the Ft. Myers area. My husband and I stumbled upon it online and when we took the tour, we fell in love. I've seen another review that sounded similar to what I am about to say. When we first did the tour, we were promised certain details by a... More

Great Christmas experience. The houses are all decorated for the season, and carols are being sung, middle school bands play. Great family experience.

This is a little gem of a museum! Beautifully maintained it has rotating and permanent exhibits which are both varied and extremely well executed. We try to visit the museum 6 to 7 times a year, and have never been disappointed. The staff is exceptionally courteous and knowledgeable and museum has a small but interesting and well provisioned gift shop.... More

I went with a group of women for a private tour of the Burroughs House. The historian knew her stuff and made it very enjoyable. Afterwards we had a catered lunch on the veranda which was not included in the price of the tour. I think reservations are a must.

I have spent the last three days on the toilet after the wedding reception here. I started throwing up several hours after leaving, and have had to take off work due to the necessity of being near my toilet. I wish that this was made up, but there have been at least three other guests who have also been sick... More

The Burroughs Home is reminder of early Fort Myers history and the lives of the wealthy in the early 1900's. The riverfront location is lovely. A perfect setting got a wedding or party.

Very beautiful place, except, during the wedding ceremony, I noticed that the linen table clothers were wrinkled, I could hardly hear the vows, due to the loud traffic. My drink was taken away from me 3 times. Bathroom was outside.....strange....

Although the wedding was amazing and beautiful the servers or the caterer were sick and within 36 hours of leaving the wedding night we have already 11 guests that have come down with the flu, we were lied to about everything we were supposed to be given and their excuse at the end was the girl that told us and... We attended a family wedding at this venue and it was astounding! Every part of the event was attended to with such amazing detail that we were in awe of the site! The home is so stately and gorgeous that it almost takes your breath away! The lady that manages the home was so accommodating and informative! Even with rain... More
