I suspect that we visited at the worst time of the day in probably the worst time of the year and took a gentle walk round the board walk without the benefit of a guide. We still saw more than enough to keep a couple of primary school kids interested, including a red-shouldered hawk catching and eating two courses of... More

Well worth going if you are in the area. Learn about the floor and fauna of this area. Good guides and information. Hit and miss as to the fauna part.

I've been visiting family in Ft myers for years and this is right across the street. I can't believe I hadn't visited it yet. I opted for a guided tour. She was very knowledgable. Such a relaxing 1.2 mile walk. It is very dry right now, but I imagine in the wet season it is gorgeous. Saw the birds having... More

This is such a great way to spend time with nature! We always see something and everyone is always willing to share information as to what to watch out for along the way. Have visited here often and have never been disappointed!

Spent our last few hours in Florida at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. It was a great way to wrap up our trip. We took advantage of the boardwalk trail (1.3 miles) and stretched our legs before heading to the airport. Nice scenery, a good amount of wildlife (everything from piliated woodpeckers to alligators!). Parking was only $2 and we... More

The hike is amazing and tons of fun. The boardwalk is in great shape and makes for an easy walk with a stroller. The animals and the plant life are quite the experience. I recommend this be a place to visit in swfl

I have been going here since the 1980s and have watched it grow each year. Is very serene, calming and the place where you can watch nature at its best. Love it!
