If the temperature is cool, go there as the big sea horses are seeking warm water, Great place to take kids. Definitely a plus to do on a cool day!!

We wanted to view Manatees in their natural habitat and this place gave us the opportunity. In January, there were plenty of manatees swimming and surfacing in the canal so we could enjoy their movements. A beautiful short hike on sidewalks and wooden piers.

If you go on a cooler day, there are a lot of manatees available for viewing. Parking cost by the hour and it's cheap...free for disabled vets, I believe. They have a nice walkway and free speakers that tell you about the manatees and Florida...More

A nice stop for a inexpensive experience. The Manatees are abundant when water temperatures cool and the power plant is sending warm water into the Orange River. Nice park to walk some modest trails. The water is a bit dark, likely due to the Lake...More

It is a sight to see. Go in the cold weather. The Manatees go up next to the outlet of warm water from the power plant. They are the most joyous mameles I have ever seen. They play together and just have fun lumbering around...More

We have visited here a number of times and the best is when the weather is bad. It is located in the outfall of a power plant and, when the weather is cool the manatees come to stay warm. On a nice day they will...More

A fun place to see Manatee during the winter months but very crowded if they are there. Informative video tells you all about them. Nice trails and gardens. You can also rent canoes and kayaks.

Great way to see these gentle giants close up. But you must be there before the water in the Gulf warms up or they will all be gone from the river.

The park has the feel of an outdated "mom and pop" operation and their website is terrible. However, there is nice path and boardwalk and even though it wasn't the "busy season" we did a number of manatees both close to the visitor center and...More

In June you will Not see the manatees. It is still a nice place to see the butterfly gardens, kayak, take a limited walk, see the tiki hut, or to have kids play on the play ground, but manatees are only there when it is cold... More

I believe they have both kayaks and canoes on site that you can rent and go out among the manatees. Not sure if this is suitable for this parent's daughter, but it may be worth looking into.
