Found myself in this blvd without knowing (blame the gps); Is a major blvd in town. Nothing much, just an average blvd lined with palmtrees. Nothing to write home about.

Every time I visit Ft. Myers I love to drive down this street. All the Royal Palms are beautiful. Last month they were doing construction on part of the street which made for tie ups in traffic but this is the first time I have experienced this in 7 years visiting.

It's not called the City of Palms for nothing. Edison, Ford, and their friends got things going, and today, as you drive around this beautiful small town on Florida's West Coast, you'll appreciate it. The Royal Palms (not coconut palms) are fantastic along the streets, especially McGregor Blvd. They're native to Cuba and So. Florida, and often tower over 100... More

You cannot help but admire this beautiful drive with its' magnificent Royal Palms lining the street. Even tho' I have lived here a number of years, the drive down McGregor Blvd. is always pleasing to the eye. Thank you, Mr. Edison.

This is a pretty drive between around Colonial and Downtown Fort Myers. Especially nice for the 2 miles or so south of the Edison & Ford Winter Estates. Be prepared for a leisurely drive. It's two lanes, so traffic can back up a bit, so just roll down the windows, breathe in the warm air, turn off the radio and... More

Nice boulevard especially at the northern end where there are some large beautiful houses, but not worth going far out of your way to travel down it. We ended up going down the boulevard a few times as we stayed in Cape Coral & it's the main road to the Sanlbel area.

If you are visiting Ft. Myers, City of Palms, you have to drive down McGregor Boulevard. Take a slow drive and stop by the Edison Museum. Even if you don't go in the museum, walk through the gardens. They are as nice as any arboretum. The museum is a little pricey, but worth the cost of entrance. My granddaughters (12)... More

We actually would take this drive a couple times each week from Jan-April and loved it every time we drove down it. The palms are stately and beautiful!!!

Legend has it that Thomas Edison left enough money to the city of Fort Myers to keep McGregor Blvd. from Palm Beach Blvd. all the way until the road used to end on the way to the beach lined with royal palm trees. One hundred years later, the road is still lined with royal palms and is one of the... More
