We stopped in on a Sunday after breakfast at the Gathering Place. The staff is warm and inviting and have so much information to share. The butterfly garden is completely enclosed and has lovely plants and a coy pond. The music is peaceful and you could easily spend an hour soaking in the tranquility of the space. I will be... More

So many beautiful butterflies and flowers. Lovely, calming music playing in the backround. They talk about the importance of butterflies and the endangered Monarchs.

This is a wonderful experience for young and old. The whole life cycle of butterflies in one beautiful place. When they are flying around you, it's magical.

The butterfly estates facility is an educational center dedicated to the butterfly and its life cycle. The building contains hundreds of butterflies, as well as displays about their methods of reproducing. We spent a lot of time looking at the plants, as the butterfly is very particular about where to lay eggs. Great place for kids over 5.

Fort Myers has a hidden gem. The Butterfly Estates is a great relaxing interactive experience. Friendly, Knowledgeable staff and lots of butterflies - several varieties. Beautiful garden setting with ponds and fish and turtles. Very educational experience. Learn how the butterflies are vanishing and find out how to save them. Well worth your time. Then have lunch at the Gathering... More

This could be a nice way to start your day with some good coffee and breakfast at the Zcrepe restaurant, then a 15-20 minute meander through the garden, BUT it is certainly no more than that! The garden itself is very small, and surprisingly crowded. There are lots of beautiful butterflies, and I love butterflies, but it is generally NOT... More
