I scored some tickets to see a tribute concert. First time here. Easy free parking, very friendly staff. Problems: too cold inside to go in short sleeves, and the music itself was WAY TOO LOUD. Plus, during the intermission, 20 minutes, the line for a beverage was 30 minutes long. Otherwise, I found it a very nice venue.

Attended a rock concert and were not disappointed with our view from the side of the stage (seats 8 and 10). Even numbered seating is on the right side of the stage with odd numbered seating on the left (seats 11, 13 as well as 10, and 8 are side-by-side). The rows do not have any break in the middle but plenty of leg room to allow people to pass through without any awkwardness. The inside of the venue outside of the concert hall was gorgeous and the concession services were fully staffed with minimal wait times before, and during intermissions of the show.

Parker Playhouse has been a staple of the Fort Lauderdale Performing Arts for many years. It has a classic beauty and an incomparable comfort that some modern places lack. While it is undergoing some renovation it is still a place to visit to see some incomparable performances. The seats are comfortable, the acoustics are great and the view from any angle is magnificent. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Traveling in from out of state just for this performance, we went to the Parker for the first time and were shocked to see how staff handled patrons who were trying to take artist pictures and recordings. The ability to take pictures and shoot video is standard now at concerts but Parker staff would run up behind and in front of patrons , shouting at them and shining flashlights in front of phones. It was truly shocking as it was clear they were trying to physically intimidate . At one point a very large man wearing a Security shirt was roaming in between and in front of the Orchestra seats blocking view. We will never return.

Went to Toad the Wet Sprocket with my wife last evening - although the musicians were top notch, they need to fire the sound engineers. For the warm up band, the Verve Pipe, all we could hear was the lead guitar's reverb and the lead vocals trying to drown each other out. The bass was in there, not too bad, The drums were almost non-existent, and the female singer and keyboardist made motions but no sound came from her instruments and you could almost hear her sing. We could only hear her when she screamed into the mic.
As far as Toad the Wet Sprocket, it was almost the reverse. The drums, bass and lead vocals all tried to drown each other out. The lead guitar, one of the most important sounds for the band, was non-existent. You could see him playing away but couldn't hear any of his work. The vocals were muddy at best, if you did not know the words there was no way to distingush them. Keyboards and mandolin could only be heard when the bass, vocals and drums went quiet. There were a few songs sung with an old school hanging mic, we could actually hear the words in the songs, then they went back to the normal mic and then it all went muddy again. Most of the crowd didn't seem to care, but for us, it was a huge disappointment.
Overall a 1 out of 10. We had high expectations for great sound quality at a small venue, and it was one of the worst sounding shows we have ever seen.

What a fabulous theatre , but a very strange attitude on the door , they obviously need retraining in what is and what is not a professional camera .
My small fixed lens Nikon was refused admission which meant I could not take any pictures of my friends in the bands . The security manager , clearly promioted to a position above his natural ability , blamed the bands , which I clearly know not to be true , as they are friends of mine and would be as upset as I was that I could not take or share pictures with the world.
The seating is brilliant not a bad seat and the rest of the Staff so very good and friendly

Nice venue with plenty of legroom. Free parking or valet for ten bucks. I agree with Tom. It was very loud. We sat in row z, the last row so our ears were saved. I booked two more shows.

Great venue for a solo performer/ entertainer. The acoustics were perfect and the intimate setting made every seat an amazing one!

Parker Playhouse is a mix of good and not-so-good.
Pros:
Lots of leg room and space to walk from the seat to the aisle
Parking is free and right next to the hall
Ticket prices tend to be lower compared with other options in the area
Cons:
The seats are worn out and no longer comfortable
The parking lot is not paved and gets swampy when it rains
The bathrooms are small and cramped and falling into disrepair
Shows don’t start on time - although this is also the fault of the act
They need updating, and the longer they wait the more it will cost. We still go, but less often.
