I had some time to kill one day so I decided to stop by the Bonnet House. I did not have time to do the tour so I can not comment on the tour itself. It sounds like it was a very nice tour though. The grounds are very nice with plenty of photo opportunities. I gave an average rating... More

We only had a little over an hour for the tour, stopping on our way to cheer on the Tigers for the Orange Bowl, and didn't realize the tour of the house was a guided tour that took over an hour until after we purchased the tickets. The guy at the welcome center was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and let... More

We visited Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami. I did not particularly care for it because, to me, it felt out of place in Florida. I could picture it in a colder, European setting. There was no trace of the personalities who lived in the space. Then, there is Bonnet House. It feels so of its time and place, a... More

Visitors to Ft Lauderdale may well consider a few hours enjoying this remarkable place A house specially built by an early Ft Lauderdale pioneer but keeping the natural environmental beauty is really interesting and a visit should not be missed

What a great place to visit, Bonnet House was given to the Florida Trust and has been preserved as it was 50 years ago. Interesting history of how it was given by Hugh Tayler Birch to his daughter who passed it to her husband and his third wife Evelyn Lilly. Interesting design, artwork, beautiful grounds with a large staff to... More

This visit is both interesting for the garden where birds, monkeys and huge iguanas cam be observed and the mansion, with its very colorful preserved decor and rooms. I particularly enjoyed the orchids conservatory, but I was sorry upstairs could not be visited. Still, a great occasion.

This really is a very interesting place to visit, full of history and a lovely true story about how this has been preserved from the modern attack of real estate. Make sure you take the tour of the amazing house and learn the lovely story of how the place came to be, and how it will stay. A real must... More

After having lived in Ft. Lauderdale for most of my life, my wife and I made it a point to visit The Bonnet House on this holiday trip from North Georgia. This is the last natural preserved piece of land on the ocean next to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park and it is truly a family affair. I used to... More

This is a casual summer house for a wealthy, artistic family of the1920s. It is beautifully preserved amid lovely grounds. The grounds are sprinkled with orchids in a very nice setting. It is certainly worth a visit if you're in Fort Lauderdale.

A great gem of a place to see. Loved the artwork and all the collection pieces. A man and wive(s) with great vision and persistence. I really hope it is there for all to see for many generations. A family with obvious wealth but did not flaunt it just enjoyed life and did what they enjoyed which was painting.
