- dramchan2017Narberth, Pennsylvania45 contributionsInteresting, walkable cityWalking the stretch of las olas Blvd was the highlight of our brief visit. The farmers market was wonderful - the fruits were varied and amazing and the vendors were accommodating. The most interesting part was the art museum of the NSU. The museum is small but had a great collection of abstract art. The Color exhibit was very informative and interesting, thanks to the 2 pm public tour on the Sunday when we happened to visit. The young guide who was a staff member was very engaging and knowledgeable.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 March 2024
- Paula LCovington, Kentucky408 contributionsFamiliar is goodCheesecake Factory always dependable. There was no line no waiting. Immediate seating. Friendly staff. We ordered one salad and two appetizers and it took some time to get our food (about 20 minutes) but it was good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Music was nice — not to loud (Goldilocks would have been pleased). As usual, helping are large.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 March 2024
- J EFredericksburg, Virginia11,843 contributionsNice, Walkable, and PrettyThis is a beautiful, walkable area along a canal-type waterway, they call a river. Boats, etc float in it. There are many large buildings/mixed-use along it, as well and lots of shops and restaurants. It lights up beautifully at night and is all walkable. While this area might have a lot of homeless and not be very appealing, the nights we were out on this walk, it was nice and we didn’t see much vagrancy. It can be touristy, but it’s worth visiting.Visited March 2024Travelled on businessWritten 11 March 2024
- joe-chicago-23Chesterfield, Missouri1,289 contributionsPlenty of choicesYou can come here to shop. You can come here to drink. You can come here to eat. You can come here to find museums and art galleries. You can wander just off the street to do the Riverwalk. You have many choices when you come to Las Olas Boulevard.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 May 2024
- BigMerkGlasgow, United Kingdom2,704 contributionsGreat area for shopping next to city centreI entered Los Olas from the City side having just alighted the water taxi. I was very impressed with the choice of local shopping and restaurants (and The Cheesecake Factory which is my favourite chain restaurant in US). I took a very pleasant walk down the main shopping area.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 16 May 2024
- Patty BNashville, Tennessee1,456 contributionsStill NiceLas Olas Blvd is one of the nicest areas in Ft. Lauderdale. We lived in the area for over 20 years. I am so glad it has retained its charm. Nice shops, art galleries, and restaurants. It is a great place to walk around and still pretty safe, albeit we did see some homeless people.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 May 2024

Stop by the Gelato shop for a cool tasty treat while strolling in between the beautiful people.
By the way the # 11 City Bus takes you all the way to the beach on las Olas if you need a cheap and easy way to get there. Can also ride it back towards downtown on las Olas. I rode it several times, plus it’s free till June 1st!

There is so much to do on this strip. Stay at Riverside Hotel as it is the center of everything. You do not need a car. You can walk everywhere. The dining options are international…. Italian, Cuban, French, American, Greek, Argentinian. Sushi, steak, seafood you name it. Publix and CVS are within walking distance. The boutique shops are amazing and open late. Beware of two shops called Ibiza Shoes and Primo. They are over-priced, they do NOT give you a refund on anything you buy. The sales lady is terrified of the store owner and basically said good luck trying to argue our case with the owner. Will definitely return to Las Olas and especially during the week when the cruise ship crowds are quieter.

One issue was the Wifi in my room. Wifi would not connect in a timely manner. At times it took 2 hours at night to connect on my Android phone. And it would not stay connected.
I logged on to my computer early Thursday morning (1/11) and connected immediately. When it became later in the morning it appeared others were logging on to Wifi and I was disconnected. I could not reconnect.
I spoke to the Front Desk Manager, Nicolas, when I checked out. He stated he was going to submit a ticket to be reviewed.
He was courteous and took care of a room charge. It was appreciated.

We were on a back to back cruise from Fort Lauderdale, so decided to book a tour on changeover day.
The tour was interesting, a mock old steamer takes you through some of the canals to amaze at how many, millions or billions even are on this stretch of Prt Everglades.
The man made canals which stretch for some 2200 miles to the Gulf of Mexico are an amazing feat.
I have to admit the size and opulence of the estates and private cruisers, some 400 metres long and costing $40 million, plus the one estate which had a wave surf machine costing $800,000 installed as a Christmas present for their children, just beggars belief and for normal people, hard to comprehend.
The beach at Fort Lauderdale is a wonderful stretch of golden sand and had we had time, would think it’s a nice stroll along the promenade.

We did not manage to enjoy this active street full of nightlife venues despite returning several times. All because we had a car with us and could not find a parking that took any of our payment cards. We had downloaded three apps for parking and the one that had a monopoly on the area did not work when you could not register Swedish No and for some reason I got eror when I tried to register with my gmail which was the second option. The app that I managed to sign up to would send me SMS
Ed code for confirmation that never arrived. Incredibly bad that you as a tourist should have to download all possible apps and still not succeed.

Restaurants were good, vibes were good, nice boutiques, some areas are worn down it seems. Landscape and cleanliness needs an update. Even some of the restaurants need a facelift to be more inviting!! Been coming for many years and have certainly noticed it deteriorate

Fun area to walk around, especially if you're in the mood for a sidewalk cafe or bakery. We didn't see much we'd actually buy on the street, except for the restaurant food. Ate at Louie Bossie's italian restaurant and had awesome pizza. The are is good for an hour or two diversion if you're in Ft. Lauderdale. There are public parking lots behind some of the buildings, $3 the first hour, and $1.50 for subsequent hours. You have to use the pay machine to print a ticket to put on your dashboard. Take a picture of your license plate before you go to the machine, because you'll have to enter it into the pay lot machine.

Our association selected the Riverside Hotel right on Las Olas because of all the activities that were available for attendees and spouses to do when not in meetings. The dining options speak for themselves as there are restaurants of every variety available for any palate. The shopping leaves a little more to be desired as the prices are outlandish in a lot of the places. There are some unique options, such as some art places and a really unique sculpture joint. But overall, even the bare necessities are expensive.

I would avoid this busy street on the weekends if you are concerned about Covid. Yesterday mid-afternoon the restaurants were hopping, and I was surprised to see that the outdoor tables in virtually all the six blocks I strolled were packed together as usual with no evidence of social distancing. In some cafes, 8 or so people were packed into outdoor booths that were jammed next to each other. I felt sorry for the servers and other restaurant employees who were all properly masked. The viral load looked enormous even outdoors. Perhaps off this busy boulevard restaurants are providing space between tables.

Stayed in an AirB&B 3/4 of a mile from here and frequented most nights. Almost all restaurants had a happy hour from 4-7. Recommend: YOLO for happy hour and light dinner, Red Door for great green curry and a buffet brunch on weekends $35pp. ( we did not get to try but it looked terrific and included shrimp, crab legs and mimosas!), Café Europa had delicious GF pizza, Boathouse for HH and delicious swordfish risotto, El Camino for HH and fabulous, well-priced dinners, Wild Oyster for HH oysters and cocktails. Did not get to go but Rocco’s Tacos has HH drinks and food starting at 3:00.
