We enjoyed touring the fort, and the visitor's center. There was a sign that said "stay on the trails." My husband walked off the trails to take a picture, and for the next three days, we picked tiny burrs off shoes, and they transferred to...More

Awesome place to visit for History, exploration, and wildlife. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions. Castle is a must see. If you like to camp, that option is available ocean side or riverside!!

Plenty of trails and beach for all you'd want to do outside. Great place for shells at low tide, great view of the lighthouse, very nice.

Great place and opportunity to learn history in a different way , if you plan to do some hiking watch your surroundings as the warning signs say.

Enjoyed the fort and the characters inside. Good surf fishing in many spots. Good bike paths and the park is well maintained.

I'm sorry I didn't see the question sooner but I would say it is worth driving through. I enjoyed looking at the trees.
