Forty years ago, our family took the ferry from St. Mary's GA to spend the day on Cumberland Island. My mother always researched trips to find wonderful places like this, which I gladly inherited her trait. We never saw any of the wild horses or...More

Very interesting history. Not a lot going on the day we were there but it was a fun day. Take a while to really walk around and see all the hidden nooks.

We rushed through our visit last year, and returned for a more in-depth look. It is amazing that it is in such great shape! We were blessed with a perfect day and there were no mosquitoes!

Decided to go here while visiting Amelia Island. There were no docents or guided tours the Friday we visited. The fort was well preserved. Some construction was going on and places/steps were blocked off.
