I think this is one of the best ways to get a feel for this North Florida barrier island’s history and its eco-system. To view this area’s inland waterways while cruising and discover from a local guide how history shaped its growth. Departing from Fernandina Beach’s downtown docks, Amelia River Cruises offers interesting narrated sightseeing tours on the river waterways... More

We take this cruise a couple of times a year. Great time, sun is setting, great live local musicians on board, and BYOB. You get to see the Fort and Cumberland Island. Many times you will see the wild horses running on the island, very cool!!!!! Perfect event for a couple of friends, we always come away smiling! Well run... More

We spend all our beach vacations on Amelia Island and always try to catch a water tour. This was our first trip in the winter, and since our first day was just beautifully sunny, we decided to take our tour early. We Lucked out with our Captain who, obviously, not only knows but loves Amelia lsland, her history, her people,... More

My girlfriends and I did the afternoon trip up Beach Creek. The guys were entertaining and loaded with great information about the area's history and what we were seeing - dolphins, wild horses on Cumberland Island, etc. Now my hubby and I are going to take the Cumberland Island morning cruise which will take us closer to Cumberland Island and... We took the afternoon "Beech Creek Tour" on a chilly afternoon (blankets provided by the Captain). "Pajama Dave" provided many interesting tidbits (movie sets, hurricane damage, local industries, etc.) as we cruised out of the harbor, heading for Cumberland Island. Wildlife was everywhere: birds, wild horses, dolphins. Dolphins? Lots of them. Traveling in pods. Hanging out with the boat. Feeding... More

This was a really wonderful enjoyable tour, which went from Amelia over to Cumberland Island. The Captain (Dave) was very informative and jovial, and showed us many wonderful sights. The tour is a must if you are interested in wildlife, birds, shrimp, boats, history, wood pulp, horses or bad jokes that will make you laugh despite yourself. It’s a bird... More
