Informative visit

I'm a big fan of national parks and I learn so much from my visits. We did the junior ranger badge program- watched a film, explored the exhibit and spoke with a park ranger. I... read more

Great place to spend an hour or two and get immersed in the area's original state as well as the status today.

Stop by and sign up for a boat trip - it is a great way to see Ten Thousand Islands. Wildlife was everywhere, from many pairs of dolphins, turtles, birds, etc.

I'm a big fan of national parks and I learn so much from my visits. We did the junior ranger badge program- watched a film, explored the exhibit and spoke with a park ranger. I agree with previous reviewers about the store downstairs, they were a bit pushy and tried to make me feel remorse about not taking the 10,000... More

Planning on kayaking the Ten Thousand Islands you need to stop here. They a have all the latest information to make your trip a success. They also have nice displays about the history of the area as well as the wildlife. Don't confuse this with the concession on the first floor which is for boat tours. This visitor center is... More

It's not the museum in town yet it worked. As everyone says, make sure to go upstairs. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The public bathrooms were clean and large.

This small, but interesting visitor center is an important place to stop if you are considering kayaking, canoeing, or boating the West Coast of Everglades National Park. The staff is a wealth of knowledge and good advice.

You can rent canoes and kayaks there or make a boat tour (ca. 90 minutes). There are two routes for canoes which lasts about 4 to 5 hours. We decided to rent a kayak (beginner level) but there was no introduction at all. The tide was not good for going out to the water, it started to get windy and... More

While the displays offered are informative and the rangers knowledgeable, it is very small and limited possibly due to the area it is in. Understand there are no walking/hiking trails to,speak of out of this location, but canoes and a launch ramp are available for those interested in being on the water. The partnership with a tourboat company on the... More

This was a nice little visitors center. There are lots of things to do here, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours and hiking. The staff were very helpful and had lots of knowledge and information about the park.

Thought the partnership betw vendor & Park Service was great. Upstairs is the NPService. Interesting selection of books & knowledge of the water area. I am a fan of the NPS brochures. (If your over 65, they sell a 'free admission' card to all NPs. Downstairs in the gift shop, you can get boat tours info & times for the... More
