My husband and I went fishing with Captain Rodney who is very knowledgeable about the area and affable. We had a fun day catching lots of fish and taking home some speckled trout. The scenery was spectacular as we went from the Gulf to the backcountry - lots of birdlife, some dolphins and more. Very enjoyable time!

Went fishing with Capt Rodney February 25. Unfortunately only one sea trout but Capt Rodney tried as hard as he could. Nothing was biting. We still had a great time learning history of area as well as local wildlife. Have been on two of his eco tours last two years and really enjoyed those as well. A wonderful morning on... More

Book a sunset cruise with Captain Rodney at Everglades Backcountry Experience and you will not be disappointed. He made sure we felt welcome and comfortable and was very professional. He was also a lot of fun to hang out with in a boat. He grew up in the 10,000 island area and has a lot of love and respect for... More

Capt Rodney is one in a million. He has a wonderful lifestyle that he shares with his customers. No matter how much you know about the Everglades, birds, animals or insects you will come away having learnt something. A recommended tour if you are in the area or even if you are not. Make an effort and try a sunset... More

My husband and i went on a sunset backcountry trip with Capt. Rodney a 6th generation islander. This tour was highly recommended by friends who joined Captain Rodney - twice before - and we were not disappointed! Captain Rodney is a cheerful and accommodating tour guide who is justly proud of the Everglades. The chance to enjoy nature/ learn about... More

We went on the sunset tour with Captain Rodney on New Year's Day. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and all of the wildlife. The tour through ten thousand islands is so beautiful and peaceful. The sun setting behind the mangrove islands was breathtaking! We got to put fishing poles in the water in a few... More

We took the 6 hour tour. I like to fish and my wife wanted to see nature at it's finest. Capt Rodney was able to incorporate both our desires. We caught fish , saw sea turtles, osprey, dolphins and a whole host of other animals. Capt Rodney was able to explain the difference between different species of birds, fish, and... More

Dec.30, 2016 This was about our sixth fishing trip with Captain Rodney, and again, it was great! Every visit to the 10,000 islands offers us new discoveries each visit: learning about the local environment, the tides, the animals of the glades, or the salt water fishes of Florida. Rodney offers up his excellent knowledge of southern Florida and keeps the... More

We booked a half day fishing trip with Captain Rodney Raffield. On the way out, we saw a dolphin, sea turtles and lots of birds. While we were fishing in a hole, he mentioned that is also a place we may be able to see manatee. Sure enough, a manatee popped up 10 feet away from our boat! Though we... More

Our second sunset cruise with Capt. Rodney and just as successful as the last 2 years ago. Rodney is patient, informative and generally great company for all of us (2 adults and 3 children 17, 13 +10). A fantastic way of experiencing sunset in the Everglades. Next time we will have to book both the sunset cruise and a full... More
