Easy trek close to the capital city, water pools along the way, traditional irrigation system which can be walked on its ledge or make the trek a bit challenging and bolder your way through

We did the trail early November. The trail is spectacular and was a highlight of our trip. It's fairly easy to follow the trail based on the marks. The trail is partially exposed and not recommended with kids.

The last 5km of the road before the guesthouse got washed away and is not passable at all by any kind of car (massive rocks). Therefore, the trail becomes a full day hike of around 7h, including a swim in the 3 pools. You need 4WD ideally with high clearance to make it through the first 2km which are still accessible aside of the river. Enjoy!

Incredible sights. The Canyon seems from the ground much more impressing and wide, than from Jebel-Shams view points.
Really hard -off-road conditions, big gravel, waterpools, steep rocks, flowing waters;
I once lost the way and dropped with my cars front into a water pool. By miracle it was easier than expected to free the car (but my wife got kind of hysteric attack.. and walked the last kilometer by foot)

At the end a small Village, many houses converted into hotel-rooms.
A friendly lokal immediatly offered me coffee, dates an fruites, anotherone invited us for dinner (what we had to refuse, because we did not want to get into darkness.

You can also waljk the 7 km into the wadi (14 km in total), so you have to consider a day tour, if you also want to proceed the path beyond the village to a lake some further 50 minutes away)

The team is so attentive to everyone. They care about everyone’s safety and they care about the areas they hike asking us to leave it better than we found it. The entire trip was amazing. The landscape, the wadis and the zipling! What an experience!

We did the Balcony walk with our 7 and 9 year old on New Years eve. it took around 4 hours in total. The views are amazing here. I can imagine winter is the perfect time to do this walk. It wasn't too hot. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up here and if you have kids, you need to make sure they take care on the edge. There are little places along the walk where you can take a picnic.

Drove a short way up the dry wadi. Then walked. Could have driven a lot further. Looked ever more impressive ahead BT had to turn back due to tired children...

I haven't been on the jebel sgams but I would say to be down in the canyon is much more fun and more interesting!

With your 4x4 you can drive into the canyon till al nakhar if the way is fixed and you can drive good enough - this is thrilling! But park your car somewhere in the middle and walk the rest - more time to enjoy the nature!
