Stetson Mansion is a spectacular Victorian mansion built for famed hat...

Stetson Mansion is a spectacular Victorian mansion built for famed hat maker and philanthropist John B Stetson in 1886. Situated right between Orlando and Daytona in DeLand makes it convenient for all visiting the central Florida area. This is Florida's first luxury estate and houses some of the most beautiful and intricate parquet floors in the world. The mansion has hosted such noted guests as President Cleveland, King Edward VII, the Astors, the Vanderbilts, Louis C Tiffany and Thomas Edison. In fact this is one of the first homes in the world to be designed and built with Edison electricity and Mr Edison oversaw the install himself. This is not your typical Victorian mansion though. The owners have painstakingly renovated every square inch of the 10,000 sq foot masterpiece while incorporating today's modern conveniences. All this was done without compromising the architectural or historical integrity. Every room on every one of the three floors is magnificently decorated and every room features a different style floor and window design. There is not one room that is off limits for visitors to see on their guided tour, you get to see it all including the owner's suite and the original 1886 schoolhouse which has been lovingly restored and converted to a "Zen"like cottage. There is also a beautiful meditation garden, gazebo and pool area for visitors to enjoy. Reservations are required $20-$30 per person $10 for children. Payment is cash or check at the door and we do charge applicable sales tax.

Today we took the Grand Tour of this beautifully restored mansion. What a treat! So much care has gone into every detail of this magnificent place! I really enjoyed seeing the modern furnishings alongside of the antiques. The windows, floors, and woodwork are just breathtaking! Our tour guide, Robin, was very knowledgeable about the house and shared interesting tidbits in... More

We drove over from The Villages to visit the Stetson Mansion. The home is just beautiful and the tour guide Robin was amazing! She was very personable and kind. Lunch at the Brickhouse in downtown Deland was delicious! I would definitely recommend the tour and a day in Deland!

The Stetson's winter home is truly worth the side trip to Deland. It's an easy day trip from the Orlando and Daytona Beach areas. The mansion is an amazing example of a thoughtful, thorough, and well-executed restoration. Although it's now a private home, the owners have graciously opened their doors to visitors. Our tour guide, Sue, was outstanding. Her knowledge... More

The Stetson Mansion is AWSOME to see in its own right, but the back story of how it was saved is wonderful. Our tour guide, Robin, was a delight! She is very knowledgable about the house, it's restoration, its history and the Stetson family. Robin surely loves her job there, you can tell by the excitement she has about telling... More

This is my third visit to the Stetson Mansion since November 2016. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the tour itself, the tour guides and the gracious hospitality of the owners of this beautifully restored mansion, J.T. and Michael. I visited twice during the Christmas Spectacular and again yesterday. The Christmas Spectacular tour was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the creative... More

I have mixed reviews on this one. I found it thru a Pinterest Pin titled Unusual Things To Do In Daytona Beach. For $32 a person I expected a smaller tour group, we had close to 30 adults cramming into rooms. The house was gorgeous and it was great to see what the guys did to preserve the intergrity of... Decorations were very beautiful. The house has been restored to pristine condition. If you like history, the story of the property is interesting enough.

Visited twice during Christmas and in February. Historic home from the late 1800s built by the man who invented the Stetson hats. This home is beautiful. It has been renovated by the current owners without changing the integrity of this historic home. Wonderful tour guides that are knowledgeable about the home currently and its history. If you are visiting in... More
