Nice find. No visitors while we were there on a Thursday. We discovered an unheard of Rainbow Tree from Indonesia. So cool! Thought they let some young artists paint the tree with neon green, pink, and yellow. Was convinced the patterns were man made. The only problem with this park is it is not maintained all that well. The plaque on the rainbow tree was gone and many were too worn to read. This is also an outdoor gym and looked really great for working out if you lived nearby. There was also a great children’s playground that my son would’ve loved when he was little. Overall happy peaceful visit.

Wonderful park and arboretum with Asian influences. Tori gate. Japanese gardens, and structures, lakes water falls, river beds, wetlands, picnic areas and many exercise stations along a well marked trail. Here's your chance to see a lychee tree. Bamboo stands, various palms and ferns abound. Children's areas, tennis courts and the list goes on. Ample parking and all at no charge. From Palm Beaches take Powerline to Hillsboro. Left turn 3 tenths mile east and a left at Deercreek Road (sign says Constitution Park) Then an immediate right turn into arboretum parking. You will definitely enjoy this little known attraction .

Went to their Friday 10 am walking tour which I highly recommend. Most of the walk is on a path but some is across the grass and bumpy ground.Do wear sneakers,a hat, sunglasses, and if necessary bug spray &/suntan lotion.

As mentioned it is not the best maintained facility -- the city of deerfield used to have personnel there more often but due to cutbacks... So yes, some signs are hard to read. There's been some vandalism (benches, etc stolen). That being said, the volunteers do a pretty good job. Jack our tour guide was able to answer most questions...

This was land donated to be a park by the builders of deercreek (next to it). And only became an arboretum about 10 years ago with donations from various nurseries, etc.

For newbies, snow birds, and residents alike, it was fun and informative to learn about the native and non-native trees;the bamboo area.To get up close -- you can touch...and even taste some things.

Plan on a little over an hour -- depending on the size of your group. Will definitely be bringing visitors here in the future.

PS the city doesn't allow them to host weddings, but it's a great picture venue pre/post events...

I hadn't been there in a few years and stopped by today. I love some of the changes they made. The waterfall is gorgeous, the rainforest area very pretty. The entire place is very well-maintained in regards to plants, pavement, etc. BUT it is NO LONGER 100% ACCESSIBLE! My sister is in a wheelchair and we go out to parks and stuff for fresh air and photography. This is one place we used to go because the walking path was completely paved. Since the "improvements," about 1/4 of the trail is now covered in woodchips instead of pavement. Anybody in a wheelchair, power or manual, will have a lot of difficulty traversing this area. The wheels will sink in and the person may become stuck, especially if alone. People with walkers, canes and any type of balance problem will also have problems. I don't know why the people who maintain the arboretum decided to make changes which meant that not everyone can enjoy it.

Small Arboretum off of Hillsboro in Deerfield beach With lovely varieties of palm trees and other interesting foliage including breadfruit. Nice meandering walkway needs serious upkeep. The condition of this park needs to be improved. Many identification signs are missing off of the trees. It was also disconcerting to find three big teenagers who were leaning on our car who actually had to told to get off the car when we approached. No staff was seen on this Sunday and the building was locked.

Deerfield Beach Arboretum is ten acres surrounding the Constitution Park Recreation Center. This zoo features eucalyptus, cycads, baobabs, among the 1,200 plus palms, over the past 27 years. Jerry Behan, a professional horticulluralist, serves as volunteer overseer.Zeke Landis started the arboretum in 1987, by planting his favorite specimens. Goal of volunteers is to maintain the Tree Zoo so the public can see unique trees from around the world. Today , there are more than 200 tree and palm species. Among the Arboretum's most distinctive plants, the "skunk tree" a white stopper has a potent smell; a "sausage tree" or African kigelia that bears pendulous fruit; and an umbrella fronded talipot palm, from India. Free guided tours.

The arboretum is fantastical. You wouldn’t expect to stumble upon such a very nice area adjacent to a busy street but here we are. There are lots of shaded areas so it’s ok to visit even in our hottest summer months. The walk around the gardens is an easy one and one could stop and mill around for several hours if you go slow and take it all in. Thankfully, this place is never too crowded which makes for a more pleasant experience. There’s lots of native and exotic plants, trees, and flowers, a wonderful recent rainforest edition with some water features, a huge torii gate leading into the bamboo and zen garden.

This arboretum can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There is an outdoor exercise course that runs through the arboretum, great for all ages as each exercise is offered for three different levels. Or just wander along the path. You will come to a lovely waterfall. Look closely and you will see turtles sunning themselves on the rocks. There are benches throughout the area and fabulous shaded areas to meditate. Although one can still hear the sound of the traffic from Hillsboro Blvd, if you really try hard, you can allow the waterfall and breeze of the leaves swaying in the breeze to drown out the noise.

This was a small park with some beautiful landscaping. There is a small fitness trail and a man made waterfall. We planned a few hours, but it really only took an hour or less to walk through and enjoy.

Go to the seasonal fruit stand nearby for a snack and get back to nature in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Its not a long walk but a nice place to stop by if you are in the neighborhood. I wouldn't make a trip otherwise.
