Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune was a feminist activist who helped launch what became the future civil rights movement. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt stayed with her when she visited the area. The home located on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University is a must see.

There are no scheduled tours. You should contact the Bethune House directly to schedule the tour. Our tour was less than one hour, but I think that the length of the tour will depend on your questions and interests.

There is no fee to tour the house. We did not have a reservation when we toured the house. Perhaps we were just lucky and it was open for tours.
