Make sure you take cash for a deposit if you want to rent fishing equipment. It is not on the website or anywhere else that I can see, but after taking an Uber there we were turned away because we didn’t have the $40 cash. We could charge the equipment rental but nothing else. The nearest ATM is several miles away. They wouldn’t consider holding the card or ID as deposit and the lady was super rude. It was a terrible waste of time and money to get there, we certainly didn’t see any reason to waste additional money just to walk out onto the pier.

While we didn't use the Pier for fishing we did go to the surrounding beach on 2 consecutive afternoons. It was no overrun with people which was nice. The beach was very clean and the water was beautiful and warm. Beach is protected by lifeguards from 9A-5P. Even got a helpful tip from one of them on a good place to grab a hamburger in the area (Le Tub restaurant). If you're looking for a place to grab a dip in the ocean, even for a little while, I'd recommend Dania Beach. The only charge is the $2 per hour parking fee.

We did our research so we headed to the pier via Uber so my teen could fish in the ocean. We should have stayed at the hotel. Turns out there’s a $40 cash deposit to rent a pole. With no car and no ATM for blocks we were stuck. We stopped and had lunch at the restaurant and endured a pack of intoxicated locals who were vile in their language around my teen. So, we packed up and headed out. Nope.

My cousin brought me here and it is one awesome pier! I’m not sure what type of fish are caught from the pier, but I was a spectator and it was my first time visiting the pier and it’s really nice. There is a small fee I think two or three dollarsto be spectator on the pier.

BEWARE of the tourist trap for parking. Very little signs posted in front of a few parking spaces. Nothing states parking is to be paid on the way into the parking/beach area parking.
We went to the restaurant and then walked the pier. We got a $43 parking ticket for not paying the fee for parking. We would have paid the $3 parking but had no idea there was a parking fee. We had to search to find parking signs once we got the ticket, still not easy to find. Oh ya, you can appeal it, but the govt of Dania just says no and then you are required to pay the ticket. Great for tourist attractions. They should be a little more lenient because there isnt much at Dania beach. A restaurant and beach basically.
Beach also had lots of sea weed on it. Not one of the cleaner beaches Ive been to.
The pier is mainly made for the fishermen. They are all over the pier. Pier has good view of over the ocean if you can get the edge between fisherman. Also $2.50 to walk the pier.

Very nice to walk out on and observe. Quite interesting to watch all the fishing going on. Safe place to enjoy. Love that you can rent a pole there as well as bait. Very inexpensive to do so. Might go back and fish this week!

I have been to this pier before, so this is my second review on it. My first review was great and that it is a hidden gem, and it is. But I went this past few weekends (with this weekend 2 days back to back), and I felt that I had to give another review as well as a warning.
I went this weekend and rich preppy kids (middle and high school kids) ran up and down the pier all weekend with their expensive rods and accompaniments screaming obscenities at each other like they were in some type of bar or night club. I was quite surprised at how little respect/fear they had for adult patrons (especially the older people) on the pier. Not only that, people rudely just move into your spot and fish on top of you (even when you move just to get bait from your near by bucket). The kids on the first day fished all on top of me, in front of my chair. So much so that I had to literally ask one or two of the kids to please move because I was fishing in the spot he took. He gave me a look as if I was the one wrong. Never ever apologized.
The kids were there each and every time I went to the pier at some point or another. It's good they love to fish, they aren't causing any real trouble. But they are atrociously disrespectful and lack personal space boundaries. Wished parents would monitor their teens and pre-teens. It's scary some of the things those kids said. One father packed his teen son and young daughter up and left with the boys were cursing and being disrespectful in front of his kids. They had been there hours fishing before the young boys came to fish. Dad got out of there in spite of catching a good amount of fish. The behavior was not what he desired to have displayed before his kids. I don't blame him. I just shook my head.
Next, let's talk about the open drug use. People light up marijuana like cigarettes on the pier. And when you give them the dirty looks to let them know you smell it, they don't even blink. Small kids all around, just shameful. Saturday I fished alone, but Sunday I was fishing with a friend who is a special drug enforcement agent. The weed smell was so strong coming from a guy fishing above us she nicely asked the guy to please not smoke because it smelled. He angrily asked her why did she care and no one else was complaining about him smoking. She nicely told him that people were probably afraid to say anything. He put it out, and stared her down as she walked away. About 20 minutes or so, he lit it again. This time she nicely pulled out her DEA badge gun and cuffs and went to have a nice long talk with him. He put it up and didn't smoke anymore. People are so brave and so stupid. This guy was the 2nd person that day we observed smoking weed, but after that the second incident we both were ready to leave the pier. It ruined our Sunday so we left to got to a nicer, more low-key place for fishing. Fishing was poor, but the peace was priceless.
This was only one situation of about 3-4 over the two days with people openly smoking marijuana on the pier. Mostly towards the end is where the smokers seem to let it all hang out. The weed smokers I observed were always guys (the kind that look like the ones you wouldn't want to say anything to), and ethnic compositions have varied. I love fishing, but to me it's just not worth the hassle. I go fishing for peace and quiet, and because I don't have to worry about crime (so much for that). If they took drug dogs on their pier or had an undercover sting they'd rack up. Quite disgraceful for such a nice place.
If you wanna fish, not bothered by kids (on weekends, holidays, and short school days), loud vulgar music on occasion, and like to get high on occasion (weed smokers are there nearly everyday), then it may be a good place for you. It's ok to walk along/walk through with family/kids.
Fishing is ok. It's a really nice pier and a beautiful view to watch cruise ships leaving the port. It's maintained wonderfully, just not patrolled....although some things should be common sense (i.e. don't use illegal drugs in public). I guess common sense isn't common anymore. Will have to find a new spot to fish now. :-(

They charge you to walk on the pier. This seems very odd to me as it is attached to a city park. There's nothing ON the pier so not exactly sure what you pay for. I'll just stick to the beach!

Interesting visit if down at Dania Beach. Small payment needed to access the pier. Plenty of fishermen to watch and friendly pelicans sitting on the pier.

Yes, as long as it fits the required size. Posted on the pier.

Is there any seating on the pier,do you bring your own? How far are the restrooms from the end of the pier... Thanks
Written 17 February 2018
There are som benches along the middle.
I saw most people who were there for the fishing had brought their own little chairs.
I don’t know where the public restrooms are, as we were there to eat at the restaurant, so we used the toilets there.

Is the Quarterdeck at the end of the pier and, if so, how long is the pier? We have mobility problems.
Written 24 October 2017
The Quarterdeck is at the entrance. We didn't eat there so i cant comment on the food. But, it had a nice crowd every time we were there.
