Although not as busy as Ft. Lauderdale beach and Hollywood beach, Dania Ocean Park beach is quite nice place to be. Perfect for just relaxing, sun bathing, and swimming it has good metered parking facilities. There are showers and restrooms, bar and grill, sidewalks and fishing facilities on the pier. Dogs are not allowed on this beach. Apart from some seaweed, it’s fairly clean and a quieter beach.

This beach was amazing -- I stopped here around 4pm after work and it was so quiet. There were a couple people in the water, a few others on the beach, and that was it. I felt like I had the place to myself. Very beautiful.

I absolutely LOVE Dania Beach. It's a smaller, quiet and low-key. It's location close to the airport makes it great for stopping to get some sun for a couple hours before heading to the airport. I've been going to Dania Beach for years now because my grandmother lives near there! I've spent spring breaks in college on that beach (we were a mellow bunch looking for a relaxing beach spring break) to now traveling down to Florida for work often where I always try to make it stop at Dania Beach.
You do you have pay for parking, but credit cards are accepted by the machines. Highly recommended!

Their Parking payment machine is a real scam. It is supposed to be $2/hr, but it will automatically charge you $4, assuming you are going to stay for 2 hours. Some of their machines do not dispense receipts. So if you walk away from your car to the other side of the parking lot to find another one, a parking officer is just waiting for that to happen. They know about this machine or they would not just fine people parking near it. While you are far away he will come and issue a $43 citation. It does not matter if you paid after the fact. He will tell you to go ahead and appeal it. The appeal is a joke. It's a form and it is all the same. You will end up paying or they will send it to collection doubling the fine. If you are a tourist, avoid this beach at all costs. I'll never set foot in this state again. And parking is not only a scam in Dania. Miami Beach and Miami are just the same.

We were in town for an early flight and just looking for lunch; found the Quarterdeck and was inside for an hour-had a $43 parking fine when we returned! Being from Sarasota where all parking is free we were appalled! But the worst part was we found no signs telling you this when you enter the lot - we did finally locate a box in the next aisle with instructions on paying for parking but it sure isn’t broadcast. And the Quarterdeck could have at least mentioned it. We told several other people coming into the lot and NONE of them were aware of the paid parking. And of course ZERO reply’s to our emails Dania beach will never see us again-they should be ashamed!!

Visiting from NC and never been to Ft. Lauderdale. I was looking for public beach to enjoy with my young daughters for the next day. Late in the afternoon pulled into the parking area just wanted to take a peak. It was 2.00 to park which was no problem but could not get my card to work. We were there only 15 minutes and returned to my car. Service staff was in the midst of writing a 43.00 parking ticket. He was very rude. City response to my appeal was just as rude and denied. Clearly Dania beach is not interested in tourism. There are too many other lovely beaches in Florida.

I love that you can almost park on the beach!! This beach is different when it comes to parking, other beaches in south Florida have quite a walk and distance before reaching the water

Watch out for parking scam. Went to quarterdeck for lunch came back and had a $45 ticket from a lame meter maid rent a cop. No posted signs, no notice, no appeal. Can't believe they prey on unsuspecting tourists. They know the car rental company will pay the fine and bill it back to your credit card.

I expected colder water but it was just right... the beach has multiple lifeguard stations, clean bathrooms, outside shower and is easily accessible for all.. no long walk to the beach area...there WAS a lot of sea weed and not many shells but overall, a well kept beach! Pay to park—$3/hr(?)

This morning my wife and I had a great time at Ocean Park Beach. I am not a beach guy, so my preference is a low key experience. Ocean Park didn't have all of the hullabaloo of the typical boardwalk beach experience. It was clean (with a little plant debris) with an easy family atmosphere. There were a couple of restaurants and plentiful / cheap parking. I spent most of my morning sitting dodging the sun under a well maintained pier (boardwalk). My wife got to play in the water and sun. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
