I found myself in the area with some time to kill and yelp searched the nearest park. Secret Woods came up and seemed quite nice, to my surprise- it was FREE! I must admit I was quite impressed. I felt like a tourist in my own town. The nature center was very nicely maintained with friendly staff and lots of... More

We have come here a couple times, it is close, but once you get there, you forget that it is so close to the freeways. The trees take away all of the noise. There are 2 great trails - one goes along a canal and thru the mangroves. The other through a forest. We loved going slow enough to watch... More

This is a pretty & well-maintained park. There are two nature trails (Laurel Oak Trail & New River Trail), a butterfly garden, and a nature center. The Laurel Oak Trail is a 1200 foot loop, mostly mulched. A lot of this trail is shaded by tall hardwood trees & there are many seating areas along the way at which to... More

It is peaceful and beautiful - unless there are loud raucous people visiting. If it weren't for the fact it is near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport, it would be the quietest haven in the county. Well worth a visit and be sure to stop at the nature centers first if you haven't been there before. The little museums are informative and... More

There are 2 trails, one is longer than the other. It took us about an hour to complete both trails. The trails are shaded and we liked the butterflies. Didnt see any manatees. This park is good for locals who want a good brisk walk or run. For out of towners, this local park is great for a one time... More

We were staying close by so we walked over. (no easy highway crossing) We saw plenty of wild life, Raccoons, Lizards, Crabs and tons of different butterflies. Our kids age 7 & 4 really enjoyed it here, walking and then digging in the one area for that, we were there just over 2 hours.

We just wanted a nice quiet walk in the woods for some morning exercise and to see any nature we could. We didn't see a lot this day but it was a nice walk on the boardwalks. It opens up at the one end to the river where you can some boats going by or possibly see some manatee passing... More

We were looking for something to do near our hotel, the Rodeway Inn, as we didn't have a car and the girl at the desk suggested this park as it was within walking distance. It ended up being a very lovely park with several different pathways to explore. One took us along a path devoted to butterflies -- beautiful--, another... More

Nice level Boardwalk, easy walking. Not much to see until you reach the intracoastal. There we spotted a Manatee - once. Maybe you'll get lucky too. Having been there I'm not likely to return.
