Pretty place

Nice park and museum to meander around in. Shell mounds and lots of history. Very nice way to learn about Old Florida. Not touristy.

My family and I like to learn about local history where ever we go. This place was a surprise we accidentally found while waiting on a tour to swim with manatees later in the day. It was a pleasant surprise. The history was very interesting and the views were pretty. It didn't take long to get through and I got... More

There were several glass cabinets with interesting artifacts and descriptions as to where they were found, how old they were, etc. There was also a nice video screening with lots of architectural information. Very enjoyable.

This park is nice for a shady walk and a picnic with a great view. We loved the view at the top of the burial mound. It had shade, breezy, and a beautiful view of the river and the surrounding area. As we walked closed to the edge of the park near the water, we saw a huge manatee (that... More

I visited this amazing place, with friends, a couple of times while in Crystal River. This is an amazing place to see the trade history of this area which occurred over a wide period of time. The museum is pretty cool and there's a small gift shop with affordable things to take home. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the... More

Found this place here on trip advisor. We were looking for something to do to get out an walk and not spend a lot of money. $3 to park for a family. You can walk and see the mounds and the lil museum. Picnic tables back by the sea wall. And they say you can fish back there too. The... More

Nice place, but older children and/or adults will enjoy it more than little kids. Tthe museum is informative and the Park Ranger is friendly and willing to give you any info you desire on the park and the Native Florida Indians who once to inhabited the region.

Love this park! Beauty, nature, and history all in one place. Ample parking, restrooms, museum, and historical sites on the river.. All for $3 on the honor system. I arrived at 8am and the museum opens at 9am so I toured the sites for an hour. Lots to see. The temple mound is spectacular! Climb the steps for amazing views... More

We have a state park pass and live close by so we visit this park on a regular basis. Nice park to walk through and visit the welcome center part for some history of the park. You can also fish here. It's a small park but if your close to it visit it.

My wife and I go to this park to walk or jog occasionally as it is right on the Crystal River and covered with oak trees. We initially went for the museum and to see the pre historic midden but liked the park so much that we often go back. It is just a peaceful place to clear your head... More
