Impressive collection for a facility of this size! A Chihuly installation greets you in the lobby. I enjoyed the glass exhibit and the European pieces. The White exhibit is powerful!
Clean bathrooms. Free admission, but they will start charging admission soon.
Nearby parking spots, but you have to download an app or call a phone number and pay over the phone. Ridiculous…even for a college campus. Outdoor patio umbrella tables and trash cans.
One frustration… much of the lovely European artwork is covered with glass. that is not non-reflective. Impossible to take pictures of, even though they are allowed.

Located on the University of Miami campus. We are glass art collectors and wanted to see the Palley Pavilion for Contemporary Glass. A very nice collection of some of the finest glass artists in the world.
Most of the museum was closed because they were getting ready for 2 new exhibitions.

Limited days open and limited hours on those days. Parking available nearby. Not busy when I was here. I was able to use covid protocols by wearing a mask and not getting close to anyone. I'm into archeology and anthropology. I came here specifically for the exhibits about those areas of interest, especially of pre-Columbian civilizations and proples. And also of Mediterranean and African cultures.

The Lowe Art Museum on the bustling University of Miami Campus has been a source of delectation, since I moved to South Florida in 1979.The other day,I returned to this fine, small, currently free art museum and enjoyed its delightful glass creations again.Favorite glass creations that especially fascinated me were;Eric Markow and Thomas Norris'"Summer,Zenith,Kimono",Robin Grebe's"Edifice",Richard Jolley's"Blue Head With Flowers",Emily Brock's"Hotel Lobby",Christine Federighi's"Globe",Robet Arneson's"Nasal Flat",and Hank Murta Adams'"Spool".Dale Chihuly,Harvey Littleton,William Morris, and Janusz Walentynowicz were also well-represented in the Lowe Art Museum's Glass Pavillion.
I was also fortunate enough to see its small, but quality collection of European Old Master Paintings on display. It was wonderful relishing these fine paintings again;Lippo Vanni's"Madonna and Child Enthroned With Donors and Saints Dominic and Elizabeth"(Late Medieval Italian, produced at time of Avignon Papacy),Guidoccio Cozzarelli's"Annunciation and Journey To Bethlehem(Italian Renaissance),Juisepe Ribera's"Saint Peter"(Spanish Mannerism),El Greco's"Feast In House of Simon"(Spanish Baroque),Adriean Isenbrant's"Madonna and Child With Hillenberger Family Member"(Netherlandish Renaissance),Jacob Jordaens'"Judgement of Paris"(Flemish Baroque),Giovanni Paolo Panini's"Capriccio of Classical Ruins With Healing Lame At Pool of Bethesda"(Italian Neoclassical)and Guisseppe Crespi's"Lady With Dog"(Italian Baroque).
I also saw fine Contemporary works of Art by Pat Steir("Monk Ayko Meditating Waterfall"),Kehinde Wiley("3 Field Defense"),Frank Stella, and Samuel Jones'"Poplar Trees".
Quality paintings by following painters were not on display, during my recent visit;Bacchiacca,Bernardino Fungai,Sophinisba Anguissola,Thomas Gainesborough,Claude Monet,Alfred Sisley,Paul Gauguin, and American David Park.
The Lowe Art Museum is truly a less discovered South Florida treasure.

Come here if you love glass. This is the highlight of this museum. A dedicated wing to studio glass artists., It is a museum with an interesting collection of art from around the world remarkable for such a small museum. However the glass is definitely the highlight . Worth an hour if you are in Miami. Inexpensive. Check out the rotating special exhibits.

The size may fool you as you approach the building, but this is a very sizable museum with an amazing collection. Had a chance to visit in January 2018 and I was blown away by the diversity of works they display. The cool thing about it is our tour guide actually led us in a conversation about what we saw in some pieces. Definitely worth the visit.

The Lowe is small but stunning in its coverage. You can see a few items from every region of the world in this spectacular collection, the best in the Miami area. It's surprising that a metropolitan area the size of Miami doesn't have a world-class free-standing art museum, but this university collection is a joy because it is manageable in size -- not overwhelming, as great museums tend to be -- and comprehensive in its survey of world art. If you're an art lover and have one day in Miami, this is where you should spend your time.

Ilike this museum very much. I have visited this gem of a museum many times. I appreciate its fine collection of Italian Renaissance paintings(Lippo Vanni,Lorenzo di Credi,Sano di Pietro,Lorenzo di Bicci,Bacchiacca,Catena,Bernardino Fungai). I appreciate its fine Netherlandish Baroque paintings(Adrien Isenbrant,Jacob Jordaens,Van Galen).I appreciate their small collection of French Impressionist works(Monet,Sisley,Gauguin). I appreciate its vast collection of twentieth century American Art(Duane Hansen,Frank Stella,Reginald Marsh,Henri). This museum frequently has wonderful exhibits included in its five dollar admission fee. This museum usually has relatively few visitors, but I can attest to its excellence.

Thanks to the Miami Dade Public Library System we went for for free to this museum located inside the beautiful University of Miami.
The Lowe Art Museum was a very nice experience for us, with impeccable floors, different exhibitions, a friendly staff, wonderful security system and team. I parked across the entrance but I'm glad I asked because the lady told me that I can park for free on the museum's parking lot at the left of the main entrance.
They had an exhibition of a Cuban artist plus many more. It was beautiful to guess what type of materials the artist used and then my son checked my guess reading the description.
My favorite part was the section of the Native American, where you can see how they survived, lived and worked.
Adult entrance fee is $12.5 and if you check in with Yelp you get 50% off that fee. UM staff and students enter for free.
My son went back today with a friend since we still had two more tickets and they both liked it.

I'm not affiliated with the Lowe, but I have seen events there, and it is a wonderful venue. I imagine you can talk with someone who works there for details.
