Not worth a trip to this museum overpriced and overrated very disrespectful management doesn't know how to treat employees professionally very evil sinister management, they don't care about the youth in their own community disgusting and appalling. A lot of Rich Racist people that aren't concerned about anyone other than themselves. Discriminatory behavior wouldn't want anybody's family or children near this museum. Management is very lazy and unprofessional.

Given the cost, I expected more. Takes about ten minutes to see everything. What is there is somewhat interesting, there just isn't much if it. The girl at the desk (the only staff we saw) did not know much about the place, could only refer us to pamphlets.

While I wouldn't go back, it i might be a useful diversion during bad weather. Definitely not suitable for anyone under 12, they would surely get bored quite soon.

Very clean facilities, good lighting, patrons are friendly.

This is a history museum about some chap named Merrick and his family. It is not an art museum as it is made out to be. Nothing much here.

Went to visit w/a visiting designer from Italy. The British-sounding would-be gentleman at the would-be reception desk was anything but welcoming. He met our questions with disdain, almost disgust (because of my companion’s Mediterranean accent ?!) as if we were a bother to him. And yes, we felt slighted, and left the premises. Embarrassing.

Please choose a more open-minded, friendlier person for Front Desk, someone with a vocation for hospitality who will not act insulting when asked questions. In which case I’d return to enter and see the collection with my guests from abroad. THANKS!

Most other similarly sized museums are superior to this one. Not particularly engaging, and not worth the admission. Go next door to Books & Books for a meal in their courtyard, and a browsing experience (or vice versa), instead.

The standard commentary on the founding of Coral Gables by the Merrick family is 'ok', and comes across as more of propaganda than anything - I highly doubt the settling of the city with 'volunteer' labour was 'rosy'... However, the temporary exhibition on Beyond Swastika and Jim Crow: Jewish Refugee Scholars at Black Colleges was stunning. I had never blended these two simultaneous events together - yet, this exhibition opens up a new understanding of racism, prejudice and being an outcast in one's own country - and how that led to common bonds, and - noteworthy - success, great success, for those young and eager to learn black students in the south - taught by ambitious, morally guided teachers who arrived as desperate immigrants. Truly one of the best focused exhibits I have seen in a while. Must see! Check for opening hours - they open late.

Parking is across the street in parking garage and the museum doesn't have any conection so it is pay to park. The man on the desk was british and not the least bit friendly or knowledgeable about parking, also didn't offer information unless asked specific questions. Interesting displays.

This small museum has a wonderful group of exhibits showing the history of Coral Gables. The photos were really interesting it was amazing to learn who started the development of Coral Gables. This is well worth the nominal entry fee and the gift shop was nicely stocked with items from around the world.

Great small museum. Very friendly and interesting exhibitions. They also have concerts presented by the South Beach Chamber Ensemble. Very well located in the center of Coral Gables.
