Best thing to do in Miami if you are a nature lover. A great family experience for adults and kids of all ages. Breathtaking views and an outstanding variety of orchids and rare flowers. The butterfly garden is rich with a large variety of colorful entities and my biggest surprise was finding the cutest humming birds on site. Cutler road,... More

We were in Coral Gables visiting friends, and when I suggested going here, she mentioned that she was a member! The gardens are on an old estate, and the grounds are beautiful. There are a number of small lakes, a beautiful entry building, plenty of meandering pathways, and a tram for an easy tour of the entire garden, which is... More

One of the most relaxing places for a walk. The collection of tropical plants in the Botanical Garden are remarkable, specially the collection of palm trees. Do not miss the tram tour. The narration is very interesting.

Arrived early accompanied by showers but it didn't matter. Took the tram tour for an overview - the docent, a volunteer, was especially good and stopped at varying points to give a better description. The butterfly enclosure is not to be missed, but pick a sunny day - they aren't very active in the rain. We walked thru areas that... More

South Florida is beautiful in the winter. The weather is perfect with a gentle breeze and Fairchild was a perfect way to spend the day. My sister in law was visiting and I took her to the gardens. I always love going to Fairchild, but it was neat seeing it through her eyes. The permanent orchid display is outstanding. Who... More

No parking fee. All employees and volunteers are so friendly. I went there with my parents, 80 years old. They love slow walking thru. trees and flowers. The tram is also a great way to see the whole of the garden.

Most major cities in the world take great pride in their botanical gardens. Fairchild Garden in Miami is no exception. Incredibly it is little known among Miamians and visitors. It has all for a 1/2 day or day visit. It has spectacular grounds just next to Biscayne National Park and Matheson Hammock Park, world class plant collections maintained and curated... More

I go here every year. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you like trees and vegetation it is awesome. They also have a butterfly building where you can walk among the butterflies. Some of the biggest trees in Miami are found here and the scenery around the place is spectacular. The neighborhood where it is... More

I visited with two friends several weeks ago. What a delight! While they were both wonderful gardeners I have a black thumb but no one could visit and not be enchanted with the beautiful orchids everywhere in the rain forest garden. A 45 minute tram tour gave you lots of info. There was a huge butterfly house with butterflies from... More

This large tropical garden is one of the best botanic gardens I've seen. The volunteers and employees are very helpful, and the gardens are well-maintained and clearly marked. Everything is first class, except maybe they could pay more attention to the cleanliness and condition of the doors and door handles in the visitors center, they were pretty ratty for such... More
