There was a nice museum with interesting exhibits but the hike was superlative. It was a nice, short loop with lots of labels. It was raining when we got there and the woman working loaned us umbrellas. How nice!

We ended up lingering for a long time on the boardwalk loop. Its quite beautiful, well planted, and tended. Pleasant staff. Parking is a bit of a walk. Bring a lunch or take the time (lots of time) to get food from the stand across the street.

It’s an hour and a half from Fort Myers, but well worth the trip. Gave us a chance to see the vast expanses of the interior of our great state. Actually saw some mounted cowboys working cattle along the way. The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum was an unexpected gem. It gave us great information about the history and culture of the Seminole people. Informative video, well presented displays knowledgeable friendly staff. Not a particularly large museum, but worth the modest fee. The building and grounds are first rate. You can’t appreciate the history of Florida without this piece.…

The museum was a unique opportunity to observe customs, clothing, food, buildings, village life and history. A 17 minute film was a great start. Staff was helpful, pleasant and professional.
