Ruth Eckerd Hall's near perfect acoustics have received rave reviews from artists, technicians and audience members since opening in 1983. Combined with state of the art equipment, comfortable amenities and world class entertainment, it's no wonder that it has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay's best concert halls numerous times as well as a finalist for Pollstar's Theater of the Year twice. In 2003, the Hall's audience chamber received a complete refurbishment, its 2,180 seats were reconfigured to accommodate more patrons with disabilities, and lobby and restrooms were expanded.Ruth Eckerd Hall has continental-style seating. Almost every patron prizes a center seat and continental-style provides the maximum possible. There are no support columns, no obstructed views. Seating is sloped and staggered. For safety and comfort, the aisle space is wider than traditional layouts; entry and exit can be made while patrons remain seated. There are 14 sets of double doors leading out from the audience chamber. With this configuration, a full house can be cleared in a matter of minutes.Among the original community leaders who conceptualized building a performing arts center this side of Tampa Bay, was Jack Eckerd. During construction, Mr. Eckerd designated a significant contribution as a birthday gift to his beloved wife, Ruth, making the dream a reality. The Hall proudly bears her name.

This is my favorite venue for theatrical or musical performances. The seating is well laid out and you don't get the feeling of being in the back. Have sat is both mid section and forward section and I like either. The sound is very good...More

I was ecstatic when I realized that David Cook would not only be playing in Clearwater, but also in a smaller venue, the Capitol Theater. For those not aware the Capitol Theater serves as a satellite of sorts for the larger REH, which expands their...More

I was not very impressed by this venue, although it does offer many conveniences not found at other places. Absolutely NEVER see a show from the last third of seats in the theater, as you cannot see anything. This is the largest detraction of the...More

Ruth Eckerd Hall is such a great place to see anything - plays, bands, etc. No matter where you sit, the view is great and the sound is fantastic The best place to see shows.

I understand that this hall is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's last designs. The acoustics are amazing, the talent line up is an excellent mix, and it is SO easy to get to. No hassles.

Saw David Gray! Plenty of beer and wine available, and not a bad seat in the house. Really the best place I've seen a concert.

The theatre was awesome! Convenient location, and easy in/out! My visit was actually 10 2010, but I don't have that choice in the drop-down. Saw "Celtic Thunder." What a performance!

Many security and traffic personnel all over the place. They can answer your questions correctly and direct you to best drop-off and parking for you. Not to worry... DJ
