Nice drive; so-so hiking

I went to this park not really having a grasp on the size of the park. It's a pretty huge park and there is a dirt road that circles the whole thing. The drive is very enjoyable... read more

My sister drove over to spend a couple if days, so we went bird watching/hunting photographing. Had a great time at this park. It was empty on a Tuesday except for a couple of young park rangers. The drive was very long, and very nice. Got some great pics, saw two different snakes on the road, a pygmy rattler, and... More

I went to this park not really having a grasp on the size of the park. It's a pretty huge park and there is a dirt road that circles the whole thing. The drive is very enjoyable, especially the stretch on Powerline Road that crosses the expansive flat, wetlands. The road goes all the way out to the St John's... More

We drove here from Titusville in about 20 minutes. Signage from Road into park is easy to miss behind palm leaves. Great park but you do need to plan the weather. Beautiful forests however, there was also lots of swamp area. We started hiking the Myrtle Point trail but it soon turned to swamp. Went back and instead hiked the... More

We took our children (8,6,3) for an afternoon of hiking here. We had the park much to ourselves. Did about a three mile hike, incorporating the Florida trail and some of the roads in the Reserve. The roads are mostly void of traffic and would be great for biking also. The photocopied trail map isn't perfect, so we really had... More

We’ve been coming to T. for a few years during our winter visits to Orlando. As we don’t “do parks” and don’t spend much time shopping – hiking is a priority to enjoy warm weather and the Central Floridian scenery. We tried a few parks back in the days of paper AAA maps, and T. came up a clear winner.... More

This is a huge wildlife area. I have been there for hiking. The scenery is exceptional but be prepared for lost of water, mud, and tics. Even in the winter during dry season we found many trails that required wading in thick mud or ankle deep water for quite a while. And the tics were allllll over us. But you... More

This is a pleasant wilderness area midway between Orlando and Daytona Beach. We went to do some birdwatching and were disappointed by the diversity, but the area looks quite pleasant from a botany and hiking point of view. Horseback riding and hunting are also allowed. My chief complaint was that the visitor's center is closed on the weekend. Since one... More

Beautiful park area. Secluded and very remote feeling. Would have loved to hike on the trails, but some were very swampy as the summer rain seems to flood quite a bit of the park. We got caught in a torrential rain storm that lasted a good hour and the driving was very difficult as the divots in the road filled... More

Lots of wild life, flowers and trials....and forest cows! Watch out for sugar sand on the roads. The swampy areas are very beautiful after the rain in the spring.
