A Wonderful time swimming in this spring. Had a lovely time with family on a Sunday afternoon. We were with someone with a prosthetic leg and there is a good place to walk into the spring with hand rails and cement steps. Then they were able to get in and stand in the water.

Highly recommended for one or a family. Beautiful, bring snorkel and fins. Cooling place to swim- crystal clear water. Live Oaks with moss dripping off. Boardwalk to the river entrance. Camp ground, bathrooms - It was a great visit.

Truth be told, we were hoping to see manatees. Regrettably, the day we went was on the warm side, and we hear when it's warm, they head to the river. In an attempt to make "lemonade from lemons", my husband enjoyed snorkeling at the spring, and I got out my paddleboard and had a blast paddling.

From the snorkle, he saw a gorgeous network of roots, turtles, fish of many kinds and sweet cliffs under the water. And above, as I paddled, I thoroughly enjoyed the cypress trees, turtles on a log, birds of all sorts, an alligator and the gentle flow of the spring.

The park is very well maintained and people are friendly and respectful. In spite of our disappointment, the park delivered!

We were visiting relatives in Bronson, Florida and heard there might be manatees in the river near the spring. When we arrived at the state park, the ranger told us that at least 10 had been spotted that day. It was pretty cold for Florida (in the upper 40's) so the manatees had come to the spring to get warm, as the spring keeps the river a consistent 72 degrees all year long. We did, in fact, see 3 manatees. It was hard to see them well, but we were able to determine they were manatees when they surfaced for air.

The park is lovely. It has playground equipment for elementary and preschool aged kids, bathrooms, and a raised walkway leading along the river to a dock. There was seating along the raised walkway. It was a nice short excursion and exciting to see manatees in real life.

In the area and decided to stop by and visit the park. There weren't any manatees but the walk along the boardwalk was nice.

SeeIng the manatees, the schools of large fish, flocks of hundreds of black vultures. The walk to the river on the wooden bridge.

Located west of Chiefland Florida. Standard state park vehicle entrance fee. There are also two campground loops. There is a boardwalk along the spring, and spring run that leads to the Swannee River. It is scenic with many cypress trees, water birds, turtles, vultures, and we saw several manatees. You can launch your own kayak; none for rent. You can swim in the springs year round. The concession store was not open and we didn’t see a park store. Everything including the trails seemed to be a bit neglected but we enjoyed our walk.

Stop by checked this place during the Winte's break and surprised found out it was really unique for thousands of black vultures around the park.
