- Sabata MHerndon, Virginia2 contributionsCape Coral, FL -awesome vacation placeWe had a great time! We took our 2 grandchildren (ages 21 months & 10 years old) with our daughter, their Mom and had awesome weather, activities and food! Enjoyed seeing the dolphins, going to Captiva beach and enjoying the shops and homemade ice cream at the Westin Marina Village. We saw beautiful yachts at the marina.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 June 2024
- AIDEN P1 contributionWould recommend if you wanna wake up earlyWe had a blast at the waterpark today with family and also some friends. Gets crowded quickly but if you don’t want much people arrive when it opens. Fun rides, my personal favorite was Cape Fear, which you need to ride with a tube. Lines are long but quick, but if you wanna get a tube you have to wait in a line to get one. Great lazy river, the only problem was that throughout the whole park there was a swarm of little summer camp kids. Then after about 4 hours of being in the park, a storm arrived and we had to evacuate. We had a great time though.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 June 2024
- Deborah M1 contributionOne major flaw. It's a family park not a pickup joint. Make women dress appropriately around childrenGood place but please bring dress code back if my young kids had to stare at one more woman's naked ass I was going to freak. Women please remember your naked butt cheeks are eye level for young children. This isn't a pick up spot its for families. So please bring back dress code because some women of all sizes are running around like it's Rio. We have passes but won't be getting more if they can't set some standards for women with no sense. The park is great going for 20 years but....bare asses NEEDS to be addressedVisited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 July 2024

I re-visited this water park on Labor Day Weekend and I enjoyed it. The new gift shop is no longer built into a trailer and the Buccaneer Bites restaurant (which I named) had a better assortment of food than it used to. There is also a kiosk surrounded by the lazy river and pool called Tiki Express that sells alcohol (which so also pitched to the manager). These facilities are clean, effective, and serve the park well. The slides are decent. The biggest ones offer moderate thrills, but nothing too insane. There are also plenty of fun raft slides. The lines are rarely longer than 10 minutes as far as I know. The park is also small in size and easily manageable. There is also a really great kids area called Pirate’s Cove that was honestly my favorite attraction. I feel that overall, there is more space in the park that could be used. For example, there is an abandoned volleyball court and a party pavilion that is not commonly used. These areas could be cleared out for more slides. However, while the park could use some improvements to make the most of its small size, SunSplash is a fun, well-maintained park and the best of Cape Coral’s limited recreation.

Giving it a 4 because we had a lot of fun, BUT…there were some issues. We arrived (on vacation) at 11 when the park opened, having previously bought tickets online. Were told only 1/2 the rides were open until 2. We made the best of it but the 2 slides and small pool area that were open were PACKED with too many people. The remaining 2 slides opened at 3pm and the lazy river opened at 2. Not enough tubes for lazy River or slides, we waited over 30 minutes for a tube to ride a slide and then waited in line for the slide. All said and done, we were there from 11-5 and rode everything at least once and child was happy and had a great day. So…I call that a win! I just really think the park needs to state that only half the park is opening ON THE WEBSITE and allow discounted tickets to be bought online. We were told we will receive 1/2 our money back but it has not shown up on CC card yet.

It's ok. The biggest issue we had was they didn't have enough tubes for any of the slides. So you waited in long lines just to get the tube while no one stood in line to ride the actual ride. The lazy river wasn't lazy because there weren't enough tubes to use so you had to just walk around it. It was kind of a mess. We got a cabana, food and park tickets for a group of 11 and it was just about $600. I probably wouldn't go again.

When we first reached the Sun Splash Water Park we were told by the parking attendant that the park may reopen in 15 minutes. She explained that there was a lightening sighting so they closed the park for 30 minutes. She told us that we could wait for 15 more minutes to see if the park reopened. We did.
There were 6 family members. We had to take 2 cars. It cost us $5.00 per car = $10.00.
We purchased our Sun Splash Water Park tickets for $88.12. We changed into swimsuits and went out to enjoy the water park. Needless to say we did not. We weren’t there 15 minutes when the park employees were telling everyone that they had to leave the park due to a lightening sighting again. They saw it we didn’t.
We were in a long line to get rain check vouchers when the park manager was yelling at everyone to get outside of the park. She said that the park must close for 30 minutes due to the lightening. We complained that we needed to get our rain check tickets. She informed us that all we needed was our ticket stubs from today to get back in on another day.
When we got home we called the water park to reaffirm this policy. We were told that the only way that we could use our ticket stubs for another date was if they totally closed the park for the rest of the day. So we were lied to by the park manager.
They wanted us to stand outside if the park with a 18 month old child in the blazing Florida heat to find out if the water park would reopen or not. This is not right. So in total we spent $98.12 for nothing.
This place is a rip off. I would not recommend it to anyone. Your taking your chances on being ripped off. We are disputing this charge with our credit card company.
Bad business.

So I like to give a balanced review so I will point out the good things as well as the bad about Sunsplash water park.
Firstly, the tickets for this place are $25 online which wasn't too bad.
The lockers are $8 for small and about $13 for a medium. There were plenty of sunbeds which was a definite plus and a refillable drinks package was $15 each.
However, it seems really quite run down. We went to the lazy river but there were so few rings that most people were walking or swimming round and many of the ones that were there, were quite deflated and not very good.
The worst thing about this place is that the concrete floor was hotter than the surface of the sun. Floridians are probably used to it, but crikey it was so uncomfortable to walk around, and I only saw one set of water jets on a bridge that worked intermittently.
The queue for a raft ride had a sort of canopy over for a bit of shade but it had pulled away from one side so was virtually useless. All it needed was a couple of staff members to attach it again, but it was left as it was.
The food was horrific. The chips looked like the frying oil should have been changed a long time ago so they were greasy, bitter and had burnt black bits all over them.
The main plus point was that there were plenty of life guards so all areas felt quite safe.
There is not an awful lot to do here so we left after a couple of hours, my feet couldn't stand the pain.
This place could be ok but it needs someone to come in and sort it out and tidy it up.
We wouldn't go back if we visit Cape Coral again.

I do not live too far from this place though my last visit to the water park was about 4 years ago. Ownership has since changed from the city to Pro Parks, and it’s apparent that this place does not care about Sunsplash. The park has some merit. The slides it has are nice albeit unspectacular and fairly typical water park attractions. The lazy river is well-landscaped and the tallest body slides kept the line moving well. Ultimately, there isn’t anything here that can’t be experienced at nearly any other water park, especially in Florida, and the park lacks any standout attractions that would make it especially worth visiting. The abundance of wasps and pre-teens throwing full water bottle at the ground from the tops of the stairwells were also somewhat frightening and should be noted. The $36 fee for non-residents is frankly absurd for what you get, so I’d only recommend going if you’re a local or you get a major discount.

We had planned a trip here which is an hour from where we were staying to go once the school’s locally had returned. Thinking we would get a quieter time and less queues for the slides.
Luckily I noticed when going online to book a banner came up stating half price on the gate so we thought this was great and due to schools returning so we drove to the place to buy at the gate.
However as we arrived at the ticket booth a surly and unfriendly lady informed us by pointing at a tiny sticky note that only a couple of slides were open and the lazy river was closed.
Nearly everyone arriving were walking away.
Even at the reduced price (which some will have not seen and will have paid full price online - why don’t they be upfront and allow everyone the same price?) it was in our opinion not worth it and if they can’t staff the park it should be closed or be very clearly advertised what attractions are open at the said price. Clarity needed.
I have since reviewed the website advertising the offer and there is the smallest of warnings of *attractions may be limited. This is not big enough or clear enough.
Avoid at this time of year

I almost cancelled a visit with my visiting grandkids because of the awful reviews, but I am so glad I didn't! Please check my other reviews, and you will see that I give honest reviews, so when I say that I found the park to be clean, well kept, and safe, you can count on it! There were LOTS of lifeguards, and they were on top of everything from a kid struggling just a bit coming off a slide to the rowdy teens getting a bit rambunctious. I was impressed, there was no hesitation to intervene, and that really made me feel that my grandkids were safe. We got the Big Deal, which is admission, unlimited drinks, and a combo lunch for $40- totally worth it! The food was fresh, well prepared, and not greasy. They chose cheeseburgers that turned out to be double cheeseburgers served hot, and more than the kids could eat. We spent 4 hours there, which was more than enough for this grandma! Overall, it was really a great day!

The worst water park ever don’t waste your money!!! We went with 5 of us and bought the all included 99.99 a day pass so that we could get lunch and drinks since you cannot bring anything in NOT EVEN WATER. What they don’t tell you is there is one tiny little concession stand for everybody in the entire park. We waited over 40 minutes in line and the line barely moved when we were starving and needed ice water. We went on a couple more rides and then came back and stayed in line again and we were in line for another 25 minutes still not moving. Everybody was complaining and so upset because it was taking so long. There was nowhere else to get a drink or food in the entire park so you either had to wait over two hours in line to get it or you didn’t get anything. It was so hot and we were all dying of thirst and they couldn’t even give us ice water or anything. It was so pathetic. I was so upset because we had to leave with no food and no water and I had already paid for everything so I sent them an email and Customer Service was horrible. They told me that it’s not normally like that and they were sorry and that that was it!!!!!!!! It was the worst. 3 rides were closed with no explanations and it’s not that big so that was most of the slides for our kids. Almost every ride is 48 and up so don’t go if you have Littles either.

Very small water park. Slides are poorly signed for riders heights. This is a very common complaint amongst other forums and they still haven't done anything.
Basically, you need to be over 48" to ride anything. What anything means is the 10 slides. 3 High drop shoots , 2 Raft shoots, 2 Short Drop Slides and 3 normal shoots. 2 were broken. If you have a child under 48" they will be regulated to the splash pad. For $20 and $5 slushie, you can find better value to the local community splash pad.
The Pirate Splash Plan is crowded with many features not working.
The smallest waterpark you will ever see.
Very disappointed and will not return

Is the water climatized in January? These days is kind of cold to go to the pool unless the water is at least heated a bit
Written 2 January 2021
I don't think so, but I'm not certain either way. We brought our own as it appeared most other people did as well. They do have a page on their website showing their food policy, exiting/re-entering the park, etc. You may check there.

If we were to buy tickets ahead of time for June 2,2018 and if the weather is bad and we're able to go on that day would we still be able to use those same tickets on a different day?
No I'm not a robot

Hi I don't know, but since the weather has been rain, and more rain here, they must have some sort of rain check! You can call them to see.
