A stunning Elizabethan manor house, furnished as a 17th Century home. Charlotte Bronte featured the Hall as 'Fieldhead' in her novel Shirley. Listen to our ghost story or try our children's Bits & Batts trail. Then visit the award winning period gardens with adjacent Oaktree cafe. Explore the country park with its countryside centre, play areas, nature trail and visitor centre gift shop. Free entry to country park which is open 24 hours every day. The visitor centre is open every day from 10am - 5pm. The Hall is open Saturdays & Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm and Tuesday to Thursday in school holidays too. Visiting groups can visit outside these hours but please call to book.

We've become regular visitors to Oakwell Hall. On a longer visit, you get a real insight into a post-English Civil War household. There's also a beautiful country park, a visitor centre, gift shop, nature trail, picnic sites and playgound. Kids and pet friendly.
