The building, The gardens, the walk, the field, the history, and the connection with Charlotte Bronte, ... what more could I ask for? We spent three heavenly hours there, and went back the next day.

We live a couple of miles from here and we visit at least a couple of times a month. My boys love the large outdoor space, the play area and the gardens to explore. We take a picnic and even if the weather is not good, we enjoy a car pack up. I encourage anyone to visit. The only negative... More

Thank you for your review saying what a local highlight we are. We encourage all dog walkers to clear up after their pets and have lots of bins around the park. Any problems let us know! More

Lovely building steeped in history, restored well and looked after. Gorgeous garden and grounds. Nice little cafe next to the hall and a lovely gift shop . Staff were very informative and helpful . Went on a very rainy day and still enjoyed but would like to go back in better weather to spend more time in the grounds

This is a great place to bring the kids. They can burn off energy in the play areas or you can go for a walk along the well marked trails. The entire site is well manicured & the play area equipment is all well looked after. You can also learn about the history of the site when it was worked... More

Better than expected. Often with halls it is case of a nice home set in lovely grounds. Here there is a lot of land and is great for couples, dog walkers and families. There is a park, toilets, a shop, a cafe and facilities for dogs. A great place to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

We visited as part of a wedding party and took the time to walk in the grounds and appreciate the splendour of the buildings. The hall is sixteenth century, built for the Yorkshire gentry. Claims to fame include a visit by Charlotte Bronte, who featured it as 'Fieldhead' in her novel "Shirley". It has also appeared in films including "Jonathan... More

Great place to walk the dog. Can be busy. Enjoyable coffee and cake in the cafe. Though it looks like it's busy there are so many trails it is still very tranquil and quiet. Preferred time 9 ish on a Sunday morning.
