This is a nice place to takes young children to see a variety of animals. They have some of the old 5 and dime store rides (still just a quarter). They have a great ice cream parlor as well. The place overall needs some TLC...More

Awesome place to visit ... old Florida nostalgia at its best. You still can find the "old typical souveniers" as in a vintage roadside tourist stop. Don't miss Boyett's when you're in Brooksville.

I would say yes,there are a few places with shaded picnic tables. A good spot is in the back right corner of animal area by the monkeys.

And it is less than $3 to add a bag of food so that you can feed the animals too.
