We stopped here for two nights. It is a small campground with only 30 sites, but it is beautiful and serene. The hiking trails were nice and so were the facilities. They have a common area with tables and a wood burning stove which was so great for us since it turned cold last night. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed camping in our Fifth-wheel here. Sites are very large with a picnic table, fire pit, and clothesline. The ranger and the camp host were helpful and friendly. It was immaculately kept, lots of trees with a platform deck overlooking Apalachicola River Valley. Beautiful. Lots of nature trails and hiking capabilities within a short distance. Family friendly. Only... More

Thank you for the kind words!! We appreciate your feedback on your experiences you had while visiting the park. We are so blessed to have such a great place to camp and hike. There’s nothing like it in Florida. I apologize for the barking dogs. When you return to camp with us again, please let us know so we can... More

We stayed at Torreya two days on a trip further south. We stayed in a RV. There isn't a bad camping site in the park. Each site had its own fire pit and picnic table. Each had a small patch of trees to provide extra privacy. Over the holiday period, it was only about 2/3 full. About 30 or sites... More

Thank you for the kind words!! That was a great review! You are so right about being out there, but this is where you go for true peace and quiet. Not a sound of traffic or sirens, just crickets and birds and the occasional coyote howl. We appreciate your feedback on your experiences you had while visiting the park. We... More

We stayed for 2 days on our way to the Florida Keys and this place was amazing. I was disappointed I could not find any pics or much info online about the cabin but took a chance and glad we did. Sorry I don't have pics on this computer to post of the cabin. The cabin is 2 rooms divided... More

Stayed here the beginning of October 2016 during the time hurricane Matthew hit the East Coast. I already had a reservation for a campsite for a 30 ft motorhome. Some of the sites are narrow but will accommodate most trailers and motorhomes. All have water and 30 amp service. Half the sites have 50 amp service. The campground is rustic,... More

A wonderful place to mix history, hiking, and camping. Built by the Civilian Conservation Camp, a State Park with a unique history and amenities like most Florida State Parks

Torreya is incredible. The elevation changes and steep hills make you feel like you're on some of the lower foothills of the AT. The hikes are challenging and strenuous and, once you're on the trail, it's well marked, just getting to either the challenge or the torreya trails is a little confusing with the map. Very rarely do you see... More

We love the park....the nature hike is quite the work out.......but the view of the river from the high bank is breath taking. Visit the Mansion while here it's great.

My husband, son, and I took the dog and spent the day at this beautiful park. We did the first trail totaling 7 miles, it was intense, we were uphill, downhill, Along the Apalachicola river, steep ledges, and cliffs towering the tree tops. It was a blast, we plan to return to complete the challenge trail. For living in Florida... More

Torreya is a wonderland of scenery, history and ecology. The historic old Gregory Mansion is beautiful as is the view from the top of the bluff in front of it. This is one of the few places in Florida where you can stand and see miles of surrounding countryside. The trails are steep and a good place to warm up... More
