I dragged my husband here, because I wanted to show him a different "look" for Florida. The high banks over the river is very unusual. The view is great. There were hiking trails that we would have done more with, except we were a bit...More

This is a rustic little campground that is quite out of way. Makes for a lovely, quiet campground and worth the extra effort to get here. Located on top of an impressive ridge, the ground drops away on all sides yielding a spectacular view from...More

We spent two nights in a Yurt in the Torreya State Park campground over Christmas. The campground is in a nice setting at elevation (for Florida) so it had nice views. We hiked the 7 mi. Torreya trail and loved the diversity/variety of the hike....More

Stayed in the cabin to enjoy the hiking and the outdoors. Pros: Lots of trails to hike on. The trails are moderately challenging, but my six year old could take small stretches of them. They can be quite hilly. Cons: Campsites are very very close...More

Booked the yurt for a girls trip and we weren’t disappointed! The park is beautiful. The camp sites are elevated on a bluff and has a good view of the tree tops and ravines. The yurt itself is spacious and has a deck attached to...More

The website said this is wheelchair accessible. Not true. We were denied access even to first floor of beautiful ante-bellum home. And, there was a ramp! Staff was not helpful. Grounds were well kept. Remote spot off I-10 West. No comparison to magnificent Wakulla State...More

I don't know for sure, but I think they're open, the Florida State Parks are big supporters of First Day Hikes. They also have to have some staff there to take care of the campers! I would call them tomorrow and ask.
