Known by Quebec and new York visitors as a cheap access to the ocean , the Boynton Inlet is a beautiful underdeveloped park for walking to the ocean or intracoastal . Parking is free though overrun in season by out of state license plates including some living out of their cars. The southwestern end of the park has a picnic area next to a very small beach safe for children to wade without surf to knock them over.
The Boynton Inlet is a popular access for motor boats and some ski doos to take to the ocean from moorings on the intracaostal. Fishing biat for the day trippers come through the turbulent canal. Visitors can watch as boats come and go all day. Active fishing is found along the walls of the inlet and out the sea walls. Licenses are required to fish for most except the very old and the very young.
The beach can get narrow and scrappy at high tide. No lifeguard is close to the Boynton Inlet so a walk down the sand to the lifeguard is recommended if going into the surf.

The inlet is a nice way to spend some time. It is enjoyable to watch people fishing from the pier, the boats coming and going into the inter coastal, and beach goers enjoying a day at the beach.Parking is free across the street and there are restrooms there as well. The sand is regular tan sand , not like the sand in downtown DelRay, but with out the mobs of people it is relaxing..

Boynten Inlet is a wonderful spot for all beach activities. A great beach for walking, good fishing in the inlet and jetty, and clean picnic areas with full facilities and a snack bar await families and couples. Parking is free, but arrive early on weekends as the spots fill quickly. The beach walk to the north is beautiful - coconut palms give the area a natural look free of condominiums. The park has been recently renovated, but has been popular with Boynton residents since the 1920's. Not hard to find along A1A.

A few places are Free, the inlet park has free parking, great clean bathrooms you can fish, swim in either the Ocean or the intercoastal all for FREE, if you are 65 or over, no fishing license needed, Palm Beach County does a great job keeping the inlet park clean and tidy

Four of us who spend a lot of time on the water were looking for a fun place to visit and see nautical activity in Boynton Beach. The tide was running hard and fast and both pelicans and humans were doing their best to catch their dinner. We were hoping to see a boat shoot the inlet, but on this day it was too windy. If one wants to see South Florida boat handling skills first hand, this is the place to come. Just don't visit when the wind is strong and coming from the east. Bill B.

Parking is the biggest problem; but not if you know how easy it is to park for free in the garage of the adjacent high-rise apartment building. Various sized boats & Skee-doos can be rented. The Sea Mist III sails twice daily for deep sea fishing.
Of the two restaurants, I like Banana Boat more; it has both inside and outside seating.

This inlet is a dangerous inlet for Boaters as this is a fresh water outlet, not a navigable inlet. Many capsize, few die. Go to parking area of the inlet prior to going out as sandbar in front of inlets moves.Beware

It is hard to beat walking along the boardwalk and seeing all kinds of Florida birds and other wildlife. I have been coming here for years and the ambiance is why I moved to Florida in the first place: peaceful and scenic!

They have limited parking, always full on weekends. Guarded beach area, beach is pretty clean too. Great place for sunrise photos. We have lived nearby for 5 months, always a pleasure to visit.

If you're cruising down A1A on an early evening and want to pull over and catch the sunset, this is the place to go. Lot of people fish here and many others just pull in to chat and relax. Only downer is no alcohol, though we enjoyed a glass of wine in plastic cups watching the sunset and nobody bothered us. Great way to end a Florida day.

Are you allowed to spread ashes in the ocean from Boynton Beach inlet?
Written 12 April 2019
If you are going to have several people and a ceremony I would call the Palm Beach County parks department or City Hall and ask if you need permission/permit etc... There is a lot going on there as mentioned above and the water flow is so strong I don"t think anyone would notice or care.
I would however do it on an outgoing tide so the ashes go out to sea. If the tide is coming in they will go into the ICW.

I am looking for a place to go with about 20 people to see the sunset, I need to know if we can sit on the beach and bring snacks, if there is free parking, what time the faculties closes and if there are restrooms close by
Thank you,

Yes, there is swimming both inside inlet park to the left of the entrance, but the best swimming is on the ocean side to the left of the inlet. There are people fishing off the jetty but every time I fished there, never had a problem with the swimmers. Have a great day.
