Last evening, my husband and I attended a one-time event at the Playhouse, the Vienna Boys Choir. My first impression when I took my seat was that the stage was very drab. There was one piano in the center and risers on each side for...More
Terrific production and seats row L middle middle. Packed in tightly side to side but leg room adequate for 6’2” adult. Acting, singing, dancing, sound, computer graphics all excellent. Show went from 2pm until 4:30. Grandkids and adults enjoyed it very much.
We love that Wilmington has such a wonderful old theater right in the heart of downtown. The entrance has changed recently since they are refurbishing the building. The sight lines of the side seats can give you an obstructed view to the stage so I...More
I'm a bit torn about this review. We're theater buffs, and have recently renewed our subscription to Broadway in Wilmington for the third consecutive season. We were subscribers for over twenty seasons at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts before moving here, and attended...More
On Thursday night, March 16th, my husband, Larry, and I went to the Playhouse on Rodney Square to see "The Five Irish Tenors". It was a memorable and entertaining evening. The concert featured many of the beloved Irish songs including: "Down By The Sally Gardens",...More

Marla, thank you so much for your lovely review. We are pleased that you and your husband enjoyed the concert and look forward to having you return in the future!
Go here often - great acts - and ½ the price of Philadelphia. This time we saw the 5 Irish Tenors and the show was Superb - but every show her is great - cheap parking adjacent to the theater as well as fine dining
I just saw Riverdance at this historic theatre. The facility is nicely restored and a lovely theatre. However, it was not designed with the audience in mind. The main floor has so little slope to it that it's very hard to see over people's heads....More
We had the pleasure of seeing Rent here in October. This historic theater was a great venue for this show. Great sight lines and very good acoustics. The theater itself was ornate and reminded of the historic classic theaters in Philadelphia. We will definitely be...More

Thanks so much for your lovely review! We look forward to having you back at the theater soon!
Wonderful experience overall. Avoid extreme rite side or left side orchestra. Entrance and hall reception bit narrow so does get crowded. Will call window have to up front near entrance doors so can be challenging to pick up tickets.
This was the third time for me at this venue and hubby's second. Finally figured where to park by third time; a garage across the street from the Hotel DuPont and it was only $5 as we were there about 3 hours.
I like seats...More
