In 2016 the Delaware History Museum reopened after extensive renovation.

Come enjoy the exhibition, Delaware: One State, Many Stories! The exhibition is suitable for all ages.

One of the most striking features of the renovation is a two-story glass connector linking the 18th-century Old Town Hall building to the Delaware History Museum and Jane and Littleton Mitchell Center for African American Heritage. Now fully accessible, Old Town Hall is used for rotating exhibits and education programs.

I learned a great deal about Delaware by visiting this museum. A lot of interesting history displayed about our "first state" as well as information on slavery, the Underground Railroad, and various early (pre-1960's) equal rights leaders. Loved it.

This museum was very informative and included the history of African Americans. They had many photos, videos, and artifacts. The original town hall is attached and you can visit it and feel the original wood floors they've preserved. There's also a historical medical display on the second floor showing early 1900 medical and dental medicines and tools.

Exhibition just opened in October 2016. Love the photos and objects on display. The Mitchell Center for African American Heritage is super interesting! So much history never found in text books. Take the kids.

This is for the Genealogist family historian. Good resources and some great older Newspaper files but not for the "Just curious".

A great little museum demonstrating life in Delaware from the 1600's through today. Learn about natives who were here before European settlement. Celebrate the many Delawareans who went on to succeed in politics, social reform and scientific revolution. See how railways and waterways led to economic boon. Celebrate the First State in this well-laid out, conveniently located museum!

We took our home school group here in September and did two of their programs. The kids loved the hands on experience and the staff was very knowledgable
