Absolutely love walking these trails with friends. This park connects several areas of Wilmington, providing many possible routes on any day. You can choose to hike through wooded areas, beside a river, or adjacent to a golf course. I sure-fire way to get your nature fix without leaving town.

Wilmington has fairly heavy traffic, so finding a good place to ride without dodging cars can be a challenge. The bike trails that start at Alapocas are a good choice. The are all macadam, so a mountain bike is not required. They also connect with the Delaware Greenway, and you can take that and head almost to the Delaware bay.... More

We visited here with my two year old grandson. This is a terrific park. The playground is full of safe equipment that can keep kids busy for hours. There is a walking, jogging and biking path, a golf course, ball fields, etc..

This park has a nice assortment of easy trails through the woods. The distinguishing feature is the many outcroppings.

A nice walk through an old growth forest. Depending how far you go, there are some challenging hills. Path leads to the Brandywine River.

The park has nice walking trails. There is a section where they do rock climbing. There is an abandoned industrial/factory there. There are markers telling the story of the plant. Good photo opportunities.

If you have a few minutes and want to get some exercise and enjoy some great views, this loop goes around the river edge. Nice babbling brook sounds and a mix of walkers and runners.

Walk along the Brandywine river while gazing at majestic "Blue Rock" wall of exposed rock, which you can climb on (with permit). Miles of paths both along the river and in the forest, where you can spot deer and various birds. Great for the family.

My husband and I did the Introduction to Rock Climbing activity at the Alapocas Run State Park. Our instructors: Taylor, Mary, Kory and Radley were excellent. They were attentive and thorough on giving instruction, providing assistance, and answering many questions from novices. For the price this activity provides lots of exhilaration and thrills ascending and descending rock faces over 100’... More
