We've tried twice this calendar year (2010) to see the outcome of the $38-million, 3-year restoration/renovation work at Nemours. Thank heavens we saw this property several years ago before they got far too important to even care if they ever have visitors. In May, the...More

All is in order and top-notch. Visitor Center has a fabulously displayed time line. Even the shuttle buses are plush and high-end! Great tour with an opportunity to see rooms not typically interpreted, nor seen in mansion tours. The garden is stunning and maintained to...More

Must visit place in Delaware. The Mansion was beautifully made and loved how it is decorated inside. The landscape gardens are breathtaking. Go See for yourself 😊

Very gusty winds and rainy day but managed a very pleasant guided tour of the mansion with two very knowledgeable guides. One mansion guide had been doing the house tour for 20 years and there wasn’t a question she couldn’t provide detailed response. The mansion...More

This recently renovated estate stands out from other mansions in that it felt warm and inviting -- a home (albeit an incredible home) instead of just a showplace. Be sure to take the shuttle garden tour and also the house tour. The docents love their...More

By all means take the guided tour in the house and ride the shuttle around the gardens. The statues are gorgeous and gardens are perfectly manicured. The entire house and contents were donated so the guided tour gives much more explanation of all the contents.

We have lived in the area for many years and have not visited the mansion. I can tell you that it was far beyond any experience at a historical location we have ever had. The house, grounds and even the garage were jaw droppingly beautiful....More

Beautiful classic home and grounds. When touring the house you feel as though you were in a French period chateau. Well worth the entrance fee. A great add on if visiting Longwood gardens, only 8 miles away.

I don't know for sure but there is no food there. As I recall they do have tickets so I would imagine that they would allow you to go out and return. Best to confirm with them to be sure. Jo-Ann
