By far the most interesting thing about Torrington. Well worth a detour from the highway if you are passing Olds. In the museum you'll find 75+ stuffed gophers, dressed up i small dioramas. The giftshop offer high quality knitted clothes for small children.

It's not the Louvre, but it's fun anyway. Entry is $2. You'll be in and out in ten minutes but worth the stop. Quirky and fun.

I have wanted to visit since I heard about this place 8 years ago. While planning our trip, we made sure we stopped by! It's oddly delightful; a must see! Such details, whether in the costumes or the wonderful painted scenery. You NEED to come here! Only $2! So good!!

It's a very small display and doesn't take much time but the kids loved it. There was a very nice lady running the museum and she was very helpful. It only cost 3 dollars for the three of us. No debit machine, bring cash. I can't even imagine how much time and thought goes into making them. Have an open... More

When I was dragged to the gopher museum by my friend, a Torrington local, I was skeptical. Not that gophers aren't cute, just that I wasn't overly interested in them or their habits. I was wildly surprised when we arrived to a little tiny house with an orange cat on the patio. I had been expecting a science-centre-esque location. The... More

Went here with my daughter and wife. We got some pictures. This is truly one of a kind and a hilarious small town experience. Stopped at Olds for a nice dinner. Was a fun experience. You need to check this out if living in Calgary.

I read about this museum in a book 20 years ago and wanted to go ever since. My mother always said no and didn't understand how awesome it was despite me reading the passage to her over and over. 20 years pass and Mom travelled here with her husband. They LOVED IT. (Being right is awesome.) On a homecoming trip... More

After driving across almost 4000km of Canada this summer, I have probably mentioned this little roadside amusement to more people than any other. It is quick and absolutely amusing stop just east of Red Deer. Just a hoot for kids. Totally worth getting off the highway!

Way to go Torrington for making this a must stop visit. Looks from the outside like a one room schoolhouse. Some people took a lot of care & attention to detail setting up the vignettes. Interesting stories from the War Bride guide today. Only $2 adults....help support small towns, hamlets in Alberta Unique local handmade crafts available in gift shop.
