It's a small brick house dating from the mid 18th century. The lovingly cared-form home of Quaker farmers, it was drawn into the Revolutionary War when General George Washington held a council in the house after the Battle of Cooch's Bridge in the September of 1777, shortly before the better known Battle of the Brandywine. Went on the 4th of July. It was free and that was very much appreciated. The woman who lives there on the 2nd floor is also the tour guide. Never heard of such an arrangement, but it apparently works. She seemed used to talking to school groups, so her presentation was basic, but interesting. She took us back in time... More
