Great park with lots to hike and see

Love fishing White Clay in Trout season. It's also a great park for a hike and to see lots of different wildlife.

There are several walking/hiking trails that parallel White Clay Creek. They are well maintained, shady, and the accompanying sound from the creek is delightful. The trails are multi use, with bicycles passing and often a fisherman or dog walker sharing the space. Great place to get away from "civilization" and enjoy nature.

This park has a Pennsylvania and Delaware side. The trails are easy to follow and the terrain is easy or challenging depending on where you walk. It is bike and pet friendly. It is close to Newark, Delaware. The scenery is beautiful, spring flowers gorgeous, and best of all no traffic could be heard. The only downside is parking can... More

Wonderful wooded areas and meadows too are found here so the number of birds is amazing. The hiking areas never seem crowded and wild flowers are abundant.

The park is primarily made up of an extensive set of walking trails near the White Clay Creek. It extends from Delaware into Pennsylvania. It is strikingly beautiful, never crowded, but also never empty. The terrain is varied, including open areas where the trails pass through fields. You can also walk steeply up from the creek to the hills surrounding... More

This past Saturday, we went on an "archaeological" expedition to see the old foundation of the Newark China Clay Company. There was a minibus of about 13 people plus the Park Guide and driver. Yes, we tromped through thorny branches and overgrown landscape (no path!) but we learned quite a lot about something we never knew existed. I commend Dr.... More

We hike and like to walk nearby. The park has miles of nicely varied trails. They are well marked and interesting. Some are more kid-friendly than others, and its easy to tell which via the maps. Two serious issues: hikers and bikes share the same paths. The bikers are always friendly, but still travel at speed on the trails so... More
